new forum posts box?
« on: January 04, 2004, 06:48:30 pm »
one of my favorite site features here at ZUG is the \"last forum posts\" thing at the top of the homepage...

would it be possible to implement this along the left-hand side of boxes as an option for users who would want it? i say left-hand side because that way itll stay there even when the user is browsing the forums...

just a thought, thank you.

sorry for the delay... I wasn\'t able to add new blocks because of some bug with postnuke...  the upgrade cleared that up, so now we have the recent forum posts on the left side as well!

please post any feedback (good or bad) about the new block... I\'d like to know from people if they like it or not.

I\'m working on something that will allow us to customize the site immensely.  One of the nice features would be to only show the latest forum posts on the left when you\'re in the forum.

The updates look good, the only gripe I have is the \"who\'s online\" page on the main /index.php page, it\'s gone back to the old style. I liked the style where it put by your name how many read and unread PM\'s you had.

As it stands it\'s saying I have one unread message waiting for me yet I\'ve read it and just not deleted it.

the switch back to the old who\'s online block was because of a couple requests... this version has a \"instant messenger\" ability... which is kind of nice for those behind firewalls.  I switched to the other version because I thought this one was causing problems... turns out it wasn\'t.

Maybe I should create a poll so people can vote on which one they like better.

Is it possible to set up a way for the user to choose which scheme is used by means of an option in their profile?

I have the option turned off right now, but there is the ability to allow people to select which \"theme\" they want to use... but that doesn\'t change which blocks are displayed... just the overall color scheme.
