Opie Console Hides Bottom Lines
« on: December 29, 2004, 10:12:17 am »
I've just installed 3.5.2 on my Poodle and have been trying to use the terminal.
My problem is that the bottom 2 lines of the terminal get hidden by the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. This makes is very difficult to issue commands or use vi. I can't see what I am typing.  I have to keep issuing 'clear' commands to keep the command prompt near the top of the screen so I can see what I am typing.

Is there a solution to this?

Thanks,

I've noticed this too. I've been just switching to full screen which works fine, but it'd be nice if there was a fix. seeyah

This actually is a bug in Qt/Embedded 2.3.7 which will be fixed in OZ 3.5.3 which ships with Qt/Embedded 2.3.9. Until then, click the on screen keyboard twice.

I've just left the keyboard applet open. It serves me well on 6000 anyhow.

Thanks orac, that lead me to the solution. If the cursor ends up hidden by the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, just press the keyboard applet twice - once to open it, and again to close it. After I do that the terminal seems to 'know' where the cursor is and will scroll the screen properly to keep it from getting hidden again. Very cool.
