Software / Converting Wav To Mp3

I've recently decided to try recording a podcast while I drive to work.  I have a stock SL-5600.

I have used the default voice recorder, which records in WAV format.  The quality is decent enough for my purposes.

I'm running into a problem finding something to convert the WAVs to MP3 format however.  It doesn't have to be anything fancy at all.
As it stands, I have to pull the SD card from my Z, mount it on one of the WindowsXP boxes at work and use a converter there.  I've infested the machined with all kinda junkware trying to find a decent converter.  I'd really like to have the Zaurus do it for me.

I'm willing to try a different ROM if there's something out there that will either record straight to MP3 or convert the voice recorder WAVs to MP3 for me.

Any ideas?  I see lots of stuff to PLAY MP3 but that's not helping.

No problem.  It came in REALLY handy when I had my Danger Hiptop.  I\'ve used Plinkit steadily for a long time.

And they\'ll accept submissions, I think.  If you find something that\'s not on their list.

Now, all I have to do is get that darn bluetooth card so I can use it when I\'m not in my Wlan.

Yeah.  I lucked out and bought mine at $289 like three days before they announced they only had four left in stock.

Good thing too.  My wife was pushing back saying \"just wait a waak or so before you order it.\"

Can anyone with the Sharp CF camera card post some sample shots taken with the camera?

I found the post on here with the card for cheap and I\'m thinking about it.

It\'s at least got to be better than the snaps I take with my camera phone.  Not worth $170, but is it worth $25?

using Tab Manager, I determined that the add/remove software icon is linked to qinstall.  when i run it in konsole, it tells me it is not found.  So where in the world did it go??

I,m sure it is still on the rom somewhere and i just need to restore the symlink.  but what to link to?

So, after hqving my 5600 for a mere three days, I,ve done something to really mess it up.

when I tap on the Add/Remove Software icon, the burst/overlay shows up.  i get an hourglass on the taskbar.  but that\'s it.  i tried to run it in konsole, but I,m not sure what the command is.

without doing a full wipe, what can i check?

I\'m still  a linux neophyte.

I\'d be interested in hearing how folks set up for these as well.  I just got my SL-5600 and am looking forward to visiting Baltimore\'s Inner HArbor, Washington D.C.\'s Mall and other free WiFi clouds in the area.

Got it installed.

Now, I\'m sure I\'m using the incorrect drivers.  I have the LinkSys Instant Wireless WCF12 WiFi card.  What\'s the trick?

Errr.  It\'s a sim link trick with the gaimpng\'s.  I\'ll see if I can find that link.  It\'s in the forum here somewhere.

I had to uninstall libpng12.so.0 and then followed T\'s suggestion.  Worked great.
