6000 - Tosa / Idea To Replace 6000 Touchscreen

hummm i try the link but the page seem to be in japanese and my windows seem not to suppport it and most impotant i dont speak japanese
but i have some question
i have done sone research and as far as i know the touch is not seperable from the the screen i saw on some site that i have to change the all screen even if only the touch panel is broken
i know that some pda (sony clie...) have a screen where the part are separable ...
am i correct ? or is it possible to only change the touch screen... do sharp sell spare screen ?

good idea... but i think i would a litle hard to use the mouse when i will be outside.... if u know what i mean lol
also do domeone have already been replace his screen by sharp to see hw much do they charge.... and for the screen i read somewhere that for the sony clie (i not sure ) the do sell screen and the sensitive touch part separatly... some say 70 $US for the sensitive part.... can some one confirm ??

i think it's better to search for the receipt or to contact
the people were you purchased the Zaurus.
Like all displays, there's only the complete unit available
(including LCD, touchscreen and backlight).
We made a display repair for an SL-6000 and i just checked
the part and price:

hey guys long time
ok my sl-6000l screen does a problem, it seem that the touch screen doesnt response anymore... but  i can clear see the display but it look like the glass  over it ( the sensitive touch screen)have a problem... i want too know if there a somewhere where i can get spare part for my zaurus model ... my z is stillunder warranty but i dont have the receipt so the warranty is not aplyable....

some part of the screen dont display from time to time , i use now the stock sharp rom
i dont think it is a rom problem

General Discussion / How Many Zaurus Owners

that would defintly a ood idea to have a general fund for zaurus devellopement and i love the voting process but i think it will be better i the the committe chose first a set of project (base on some criteria that have to be discuss frst) then propose them to the ZUG communoty for voting and then the fund is share proportionaly to the vote.
is it time to think to a unified rom  for all z model is think we wasting a lot of ressource by having more than one ROM(may be two) even if i understand that ROM are not made for the same process

'connecting' means USB? there is a problem, known, a dirty hack - try to bring up qtsamba *before* you plug in, sometimes it helps
overclocking you can do by clicking on the battery applet, or by echoing into proc fs entry

batery aplet ? the one i use to set up the light ? if yes i can see any setting of processor speed
plus wich entry on the proc i have to echoing and wich value i have to echo

Guylhem Rom / Newbies Question

just try the guylem rom and it work well but i get some problems when trying to connect the z to my pc .when i connect the 6k the screen with the crocodile appears and the z seem to freeze so i have to reboot with the reset boton i try it like 3 or 4 times
any one have a solution ...
i also wnat to know how do we change the clock of processor i want the try overcloking

The black and red color scheme is damn nice looking. I like it even better than the 1000's keyboard. (Which I can't remember the coloring of - Grey? It's going to be another week or two before I get my 1000 back.)

i just realise that i coul be  usefull to use the email program in the sharp stock room
but i dont know how to configure
in fact i dont know where to get the information on my email acount (the server, the protocol....)
i use hotmai,gmail and yahoo can someone point me to somwhere i can get those info or some one using the same acount help me

General Discussion / New Zaurus This Summer?

There is already a C3000 ROM (beta factoring in the 4GB space used a flash), and hence that cant be used for the C1000. There is a similar ROM in the works for C1000 (factoring out the 4GB built in HDD).

So the C1000 ROM in theory should be usable on the C3100 easily.

The C3100 was a real dissapointment - notwithstanding TriSoft's raising the expectation with his "nice surprise" countdown.
It doesnt have any - absolutely ANY REAL technological improvement over the C1000/3000. How depressing can his be.
I guess the Sharp engineers and designers are taking a much needed break while the marketing droids are pushing these incremental upgrades with some "hot" Japanese language learning software over and over again to the market.

We are not impressed.

You are so right. What Sharp is saying to users is "we know you are so dumb and/or desperate for Linux that you will take anything we give you" - and to prove it they actually go as far as to paint an existing model in different color and roll it out as "nice surprise" (of course with a different model number). This is a joke and even people at Sharp must be privatly laughing at all of us - at the same time there is still no one else who has quite cought up with them so for now they can still get away with it.
