SIMpad forum / Wpa With Familiar 0.8.4 & Opie 2.7 On Sl4

What I've found is that WPA in familiar 0.84 is way too old to work properly. Using the same config on a Zaurus CL-1000 (running openzaurus) and on a simpad, I can connect without problems to my WPA-PSK network with the Zaurus, while the Simpad just won't connect, no mather what I try.
Maybe next version will have a updated wpa_supplicant

According to the website, even though it is gpld, it seems to only be available on request from betaboy@corecodec.com. It would be interesting to put the project up in sourceforge.

in my sdl (c860 from piro) the beam moves when the mirrors are rotated. right click is activated when the menu button is pressed and left click is activated when the address button is pressed so i can use both the click types and things work fine with the game.

The menu and adress buttons do the trick, now all I need is to understand why the beam  doesn't change unless I restart the level. Are there other keys?

Oh well, I give up.  I got it to work but only by running it from the console.  Even then I don't think it worked right; when I turned the mirrors the beam most of the time didn't change and I can't do right kick by holding down the shift key.

Looks like a fun game though.

My experience exactly. Launching from the desktop (after reseting the "launch magnified"checkbox) returns immediately, launching from console the beam won't move no mather how much I rotate the mirrors, and right klick doesn't work.
Anyone had any luck?

I am interested, but I haven't been able to find a place where they would do the surface mount soldering work for me. I won't risk buying the chips and having them end up like a bluetooth module I bought for the simpad...

Maybe if we could set up a "upgrade facility" for our c1000s...

No, for that I'd keep the sd card to use with my akita. I'd rather sell it all together, as for using hentges rom + cardfs the sd card is needed.

Hi,

Unfortunately I barely have the time to play with my C1000, so my SL-5500 has to go. It is in very good shape, just a small scratch where the case springs hold it. The (included) case is a "Case Logic", and I am also including a 256Mb Pretec SD card, a serialIO usb/charger cable and a extra stylus, besides the base/charger. Also included is the plastic protector that came with it, plus a already applied screen protector.
I still have the case and manuals, besides the warranty papers (good for two years since bought, which means a few more months yet).
Make me an offer, if I can't sell it here I'll have to go to ebay. I'd prefer to sell to someone in europe, but am open to offers from the rest of the world.

Well I'd be interested in a simple experiment - removing the J3 strataflash (16 Mb per chip) and replacing it by greater chips (say min 32 Mb each, or even 128 each !) to boost internal storage.

After that, a new bootloader would have to be installed by JTAG. If you feel like trying I can check the chip reference. Finding/soldering the chips could be troublesome however.

I was afraid it might be something like that... I think my soldering skills are very rusty by now. Just inserting the jtag header I almost destroyed the simpad, as one track jumped out. Luckily I managed to solder it into place at both ends. So I won't be able to help you much here, at least not until I manage to buy a new soldering station and practice a lot more...

Since I'm quite close to actually upgrading the SL6000 flash, I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in a simpad flash upgrade?

I'd need some help - preferably from someone with a JTAG'ed simpad :-)

Looks like the 0% -> 100% width is hard-coded for a normal sized OZ initrd.bin so it could use some hacking

I really do need to get my oe build machine back up and working... Also, the zImage part isn't doing the progress bar, I have to fix that too.

And I do need to start working on porting the rt2570 usb driver to oe, a 802.11g usb stick that works with my akita would be cool...

A small problem - when you choose the "storage" usb mode, you should also be able to specify which device will be exposed - SD, CF or /home

The updater.sh you have for the akita is not the last one I edited, I am attaching here the "fixed" one, that shows the "progress bar" for the initrd as it should be, instead of the debug data.

Estou para comprar o modelo sl-5500 no ebay do reino unido, e gostaria de saber se é possível usar os caracteres do nosso portugês, no teclado do zaurus e no virtual.

Agora se calhar é tarde, mas podes usar os caracteres portugueses no teclado virtual, pelo menos com o openzaurus (não tenho a certeza com o rom original, quase nem usei).
