I apologize for my way of speaking ( writing ) in this post .
And first of all, if you check all my other posts here, I believe that in a way I contribute a lot in this forum.
I hope no one here has this kind of problem.
The fact is that Planet don't answered me.
I proposed to send my device first to them.
I did not want them to send me the gemini before.
The truth is that I did not want to pay the cost of transport and customs, which would double or triple the value paid.
Unfortunately the customs here ( Brazil ) open the packages and search the internet for the value of the product.
I've paid almost US800 ( Us 400 for the gemini and US 400 for Customs duties ). and would not want to pay another US400 of Customs duties. ( excluding the shipping cost ). Even if it is an RMA, I would have to pay Customs duties. Believe me. Brazil is the country that has the highest customs duties.
When this occurs at Amazon ( www.amazon.com ) , they always send the product with customs duties already pre paid.
But Planet did not answered me. Only answered me about a possible order of an addon camera.( as I mentioned before ).
And about my possible order, they answered me quickly.
And no answers about my problem.
In fact, I waited only a few days. But such problem : I hoped at least to have a quick return.
So, I've donated my defective gemini.
It's a problem that I do not have to worry about again.
I do not expect anything else from Planet. I just hope this problem was only on my device.
I've saw also in this forum that some people ( Donoregano and Weasalopes ) are having problems with gemini, specifically concerning to sim card detection.

There are anothers posts , but only to do some examples , I mentioned these.

And I hope also that gemini has a high durability over the years. Otherwise, many complaints will happen.

At least now I have more free time without worrying about various configurations that I had done in linux. I've also hoped linux would come pre-installed and configured perfectly from the factory. Including correct keyboards and accents for Latin-speaking countries as well as others.

Despite this, I had a little fun with Gemini. It's a really cool device. If I had not these problems mentioned ... I would be very happy.

Maybe someone develops something similar with "librem".

And if it have a slide keyboard in a slim form factor would be nice .

Note : By the way, I already unlocked Planet. But as I said I will not contact them and I do not expect a return from them. This case is  closed. I'm just putting my thoughts so that other people who are having problems have a better consideration of  Planet. Nothing else. And to register so that if someone has a problem it will be an added incentive for the problem to be solved.

Note 2 : What most angered me  is that someone  doubted the truth of my videos and what I said here.
I know there are many defenders of Planet here. ( It is easier to believe in the powerful.)
I've already seen that some people are already having problems.
I hope the problems are really a few problems.
But I believe that  they too are dissatisfied.

That is such a ridiculous customs system, I'm sorry you have to suffer that

Planet should have done more research into international shipping and blacklisted countries like that (no offense intended), it's just not feasible for a startup to have to pay a substantial proportion of the retail price on top of shipping an extra unit for RMAs.

Also as you used a forwarding service, as far as Planet are concerned you are a UK customer. It would be very unusual for a small to medium size company to offer international RMA. I think the most you could have hoped for without spending more money with skypax/customs is a full refund, but that would be from Planet's goodwill without receiving the broken unit back. It's obviously not okay that they stopped replying without offering you any options

As an aside, the other thread in the Linux section does provide some insight into why they might have stopped replying

As I said,  I've waited really only a   few days for an answer of Planet, and after this I've  blocked Planet from my contacts. There  is an reason for this :
Two days before my problem , I've contacted Planet via website to buy an external addon camera. They had answered me next day. And after some questions about shipping cost ( hello@planetcom.co.uk ) , they had answered me in the same day. After my problem ( 2 day after the previous contact ) , I've contacted Planet again about my problem ( hello@planetcom.co.uk and robin@planetcom.co.uk ) without answers. Contacted them again via website and received an answer that my question was closed and was being treated in another post. So when it matters they respond quickly. For this reason I think it was  a tremendous lack of consideration of the Planet.
I hope no one here has this kind of problem.
But it's all right. I already donated my equipment to someone that will use it for repair parts. Thank you all.

Note2 :Whem I bought the gemini from Planet ,  I've paid Customs duties ( here in Brazil are too high - > 60% to 110% of ( price + shipping ).

Also I've paid additional shipping cost because I've asked Planet to ship to a forward service in UK ( SKYPAX ) and from there I've sent the gemini to Brazil ( additional shipping cost and Duties ). I did this to receive my device fast ( I've used DHL fastest shipping method  from UK to Brazil ).

So, I've spent a lot of money for nothing.

But this is all gone.

I am ok now.

Think I would be frustrated if I was in his situation and heard nothing from Planet.
Frustrated, yes, but it seems he waited just a few days, AND over a weekend, before his "I've blocked them"-tantrum (I can't help but imagine a three year old stomping his/her feet in a tantrum when I read it...). His first post was totally fine, but don't really care for the second. And of course Planet SHOULD have been able to respond, but we all know they have a bad track record of that, so it is (unfortunately) as expected...

I didn't want to say but I feel there was something fishy about this whole thing. I'm not even sure the videos of the broken gemini were completely legit and I don't think galodoido has been entirely truthful. I'm sorry to say that and I'd be happy to be wrong.

If I wanted to, I could perfectly make use of my assignments and prosecute Planet. But I will not waste time doing  this. Millions of cases  in Justice here in  Brazil and I do not have time to waste with nonsense. Time will tell you and maybe this company will break. Perhaps many problems will occur if they are no longer occurring. But I do not admit in any way that a person says that this post of mine is false. I would never lie about this, even because I work in a court  justice. Well, that's it.
