Cosmo Communicator - Linux / Andronix brings Linux to the Cosmo
« on: December 09, 2019, 03:21:53 pm »
Well, no need to wait for the Linux port - AndroNix installs and works fine on the Cosmo. It's on sale at the moment as well. Got it running Ubuntu 19 and KDE (other distros and desktops are available) via VNC. Root not required.
You have to up the font size, but perfectly usable. Got Thunderbird, Chrome, Firefox, Filezilla, LAMP, LibreOffice, GIMP etc running well.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Poor battery life
« on: November 26, 2019, 05:26:53 pm »
Is anyone else experiencing really poor battery life?
I can watch the battery percentage literally dropping as I'm using it.

It's dropping about 8% an hour even in standby with hardly any apps installed, so it'll barely make it to the morning.

Hopefully this can be improved or this simply isn't viable as a daily use device.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Blue LEDs on fingerprint sensor

Hi.

Is there a way to turn off or dim the two bright blue LEDs either side of the fingerprint sensor. Rather bright at night!

Thanks!

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Rear camera module image quality very poor
« on: June 22, 2018, 05:30:48 am »
I received my camera module today and carefully installed it. The image quality is simply appalling. The images are washed out, over exposed and lack sharpness. My children's VTECH toy camera produces better images than it does. Veryt disappointed. I've attached a sample.

The front camera produces nice sharp, colourful images, so I can only assume the rear module is different or the software isn't right somehow.

Are other people experiencing the same thing?
