Astro Slide - Android / Stuck on Android symbol
« on: April 13, 2023, 04:10:16 am »
Hi - when I woke up this morning my Astro just has "Android" written on the screen with a kind of regular strobing on the word.

It has now been like that for at least 3 hours.

Is it updating something?  3 hours seems a long time to do an update.

Astro Slide - Android / Planet Agenda app - sync with M365 and/or Icloud
« on: January 10, 2023, 03:18:50 am »
Hi - is it possible to get the planet Agenda app to work with M365 (family subscription) and/or Icloud?

I mean fully work in both directions and not having to plug into a computer to sync?

If so how do I set that up?  I tried to set it up in the accounts in setup as described in the agenda documentation but it wouldn't let me set the account up.

Hi,

In one of the videos on Youtube, it shows a mouse connected to the Cosmo.

Would any USBC mouse work for this?

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Two lights on fingerprint sensor
« on: December 07, 2019, 10:56:25 am »
Hi,

What do the two lights on the fingerprint sensor mean?  At the moment one is green and one is red, but I couldn’t see anything in the QuickStart guide on what these lights actually mean.

In fact, as a general question, where can I find documentation to answer questions like the above?

Thanks

Gemini PDA - Android / MS Office Apps Won't run?
« on: September 16, 2018, 03:21:17 pm »
Hi,

I have installed Word and Excel on my Gemini but they won't run - when I try to run either app, I just see the logo pop up for 10 seconds or so, then it crashes back to the home screen.

I'm assuming this is supposed to work because there were icons pre-installed on the app bar?

Gemini PDA - Hardware / USB Hub
« on: September 16, 2018, 08:26:07 am »
Hi all,

I just received this week the USB hub for my Gemini but it didn't seem to have any instructions with it.

Which side of the Gemini can I plug it in or will both work?

Also what is the 3rd smaller port on there?

Gemini PDA - Android / How to switch off keboard sound
« on: July 29, 2018, 03:03:23 pm »
How can I switch off the clicking sound that happens every time I press a key without switching off all sound completely?

I've switched off the "touch" option in sound settings, and it appears to switch off the touching of the screen noise, at least most of the time, but the keyboard clicks won't go away.

Gemini PDA - Hardware / Battery Life
« on: July 22, 2018, 05:48:07 am »
Hi all,

Have there been any issues reported with the battery running down much quicker than expected?

When I first got my Gemini the batter appeared to last about 5-7 days of standby use.

Now, for me this is just a test prototype device to play around with and it's currently not my main device, so sometimes it just sits in my office on standby mode for a day or two.

I've noticed in the two weeks, that every time I go to use the device, the battery is empty, even though I'm 99% sure I charged it up only 2 days ago.

Have any other issues like this been reported?  If not, I'll monitor it more closely over the next few days to determine whether I have a duff battery, or perhaps there is a runaway app or something that is causing the issue.

It is just using the standard Android firmware so far as I haven 't even had time to install linux, and I've hardly installed any apps other than the ones that were standard and the Gemini Agenda app.l

cheers

Gemini PDA - Android / Why would I install Rooted Android
« on: July 04, 2018, 03:37:46 pm »
Hi,

I'm not an Android expert at all, so I'm just wondering, why would I install "rooted" android and what does that mean?

Also, is there a drawback to installing rooted Android?

cheers

Gemini PDA - Linux / Why would I install Linux?
« on: July 04, 2018, 03:36:38 pm »
Hi, this is probably an odd question but I bought a Gemini because I used to be a big fan of the Psion machines back in the day.

What is the reason why I would decide to install Linux other than just "because I can"?  Is there some killer app that I can get that isn't available on Android?

I'm just trying to figure out whether I would install Linux just for fun or whether there's good reasons to do so?

Also, on the partition tool, how would I choose how much space to allocate to each?  I can see how you do that, but there is no guidance about how and why I would allocate the partition size.  Would you recommend just allocating half and half?

Also can I use the SD card on board for both Linux and Android files as well?

Sorry for the silly questions but I'm completely unfamiliar with Linux.

Gemini PDA - Android / How to Reboot and How to see open apps
« on: June 14, 2018, 02:46:41 pm »
Sorry for the newbie questions but I'm not used to Android.

How do I reboot and completely shut down the device?

Is there a way to see open apps and close them?

There is a comment in another post I saw that the agenda / calendar app is not working yet?  Is this correct or is that comment out of date?
