Debian / Installing From Cf
« on: May 11, 2008, 08:37:14 am »
I have been trying to move on to debian as my zaurus has sat collecting dust, mostly because pdaxrom has slowed so much.  However, my SD slot is broken.

Is there any way to install from CF?  From what I gathered you have to install from SD?  I've tried to install and I get a kernel panic.

Thanks!

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted Zaurus Sd Slot
« on: March 18, 2008, 01:11:55 pm »
Ok, most of us around here have working zaurii....  However, I know some of you have duds just sitting around.  My z's sd slot is dead, which is kind of limiting.  I am looking to pick one up.  I emailed brett at conics awhile ago but I never got a final response.  The board just plugs into the mother board and is easily removed.  Anyone who is looking to part of this piece pleeeeease post.

For Sale / Wanted / Wanted: C1000/c3x00 Sd Slot
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:46:51 am »
hey all. Well, I managed to break one of the connectors on the sd slot.  If anyone has a broken clamshell that they are interested in hacking apart and selling the slot I would be terribly interested.

Thanks

C1000/3x00 Hardware / Broken Sd Slot
« on: March 29, 2007, 11:53:59 am »
Hey all.  In the constant saga of me breaking my Zaurus, I have a new chapter.  About a month ago I took apart my in order to replace the microdrive which had finally died.  Shortly after I decided to use my sd slot as I never had and I thought it would be nice to have some extra space.  Well, after ejecting the mock card, I tried to press in the sd card and it felt like something was blocking the way.  I tried a couple more times to no avail.  Well, I accepted the fact it was broken and I stepped away from this problem for a week or so.  Well, I noticed that, now when I booted up pdaxrom, no modules were loaded...  In fact, I didn't even get a FAILED.  So, again, I tried the sd card again and it pressed in after a bit of fiddling (not hard).  When it went it, the system freezes for a short while and then acts as though nothing happened.   I try to mount and no beans.  I run dmesg and I get nothing (mind, the card is in now and ejects and presses in as normal).  The reason I post this in the hardware section is because I just flashed to GPE and I still have the same problems (minus the short term freeze).  I pop the card in, mounting fails and I get nothing in dmesg.  Does anyone have a clue?  Possibly a broken solder joint?  The board is pressed into the socket on the motherboard and screwed down....

I never used my SD cards and now I feel like I am missing something HUGE on my Z....  It's funny how that works.

Hey all...  I just got my wisdom teeth out.  Thank god none of them were impacted, but still, my mouth is numb as hell.  Does anyone have from past experience the knowledge as to when this virtual paralysis wares off?  At that point I'll probably be upset it wore off, but right now, this  hust feels VERY strange.

And....  I'M HUNGRY!!!!!!

I got bored and decided to see how Honda was doing with their development of the Asimo robot.  I came across this website:
Plyojump

It has a whole slew of information on the companies that are battling in the AI war.  I found it interesting.  I thought maybe you fellow geeks would enjoy it as well.

Hey all.  I have tried and tried and tried but, I honestly don't think I am experienced enough.     I didn't want to be a leach but... I can't seem to get any of these to build properly.  Perchance, would any of you gods of compilation be willing to compile these items for me and for the group.  PYCAR  is an in car media juke box.  Pymedia and pyRXP are depends.

For Sale / Wanted / Zaurus C3200
« on: January 15, 2007, 11:51:04 am »
This is a zaurus c3200 in great condition.  I am including all the original box, accessories etc.  I am also going to throw in a symbol spectrum 24 wifi card, targus bluetooth adapter and a targus camera case that has served me very well.  The only reason I am selling this is because I am short on cash for college

I am asking 500 dollars.  Payment via paypal would be prefered although, I'll take cashier's cheques/money order.  If you are curious about my reputation as far as selling, I have an ebay account: superfishguy.  I have great feedback both as a seller and a buyer.

Thisis currently loaded with meanie's pdaxii 5.2 although I'd be willing to flash anything for you if need be.

thanks,
Fish

I am going to miss my toy

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Compilation Help
« on: January 10, 2007, 04:17:19 pm »
Hey everyone  I am not new to linux but VERY new to compiling.  I am running c3200 with meanie's pdaxii 5.2.  I am trying to compile pyRXP so that I can then compile pycar but, after compiling the files when I try to build,  it starts out fine...  Then somewhere in the process it tells me that it is unable to execute 'armv5tel-cacko-linux-gcc' .  I have meanie's zgcc image installed and it works...  I am pretty lost as to what is going wrong.  I am probably doing something stupid.  any help would be appreciated.

thanks,
Fish

I was just curious how many of you own a gp2x.  I was thinking about picking one up and I wanted some opinions.  I know there are some great reviews out there but I much prefer to hear from the people that aren't writing for some website or such.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / N64 Emulator
« on: September 27, 2006, 12:35:47 pm »
Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone had compiled a n64 emulator over to the Z?  I mean, if we can do psone, couldn't we do n64?  If not, does anyone have any suggestions on one that we could perhaps compile to work on the z?

Archos forum / Some Questions From A Perspective Buyer
« on: September 08, 2006, 07:12:05 am »
I've been looking at the archos and I was just curious if anyone had used x/qt on this little bugger.  I am the current owner of a c3200 but find myself strangely attracted to the huge HD size, the built in wireless and the whole television abilities.   If there are any owners of both the archos and a z cxx00 series/ could you tell me if you can tell the big difference in speed?  I know the proc. have a substantial difference but is it hugely apparent?

thanks guys!
