Sharp ROMs / Apache, Mysql, Php?
« on: November 26, 2007, 06:40:06 am »
Thanks again, will definitely give this a try later on today when I get home from work.

Any notes anywhere about this?
There used to be, in the dim and distant past, on the old zaurus forums, a howto about how to get this to run. Does anyone know if these still exist anywhere?

Thanks

How cool is that, thanks! Do you know if they work?

I'll try them at some point tomorrow :-)

Well as with all things Zaurus related and one of the reasons I kinda gave up

Everything was always just too much hard work, always required too much effort to find anything and to get it to work.

Far too much luck needed :-(

pdaXrom does it easily--don't remember apache for cacko, but it may be lurking out there

My experiences with pdaXrom on a C1000 haven't inspired me to give it another go until the next formal release. I'm not really that interested in tinkering with settings and bugs.

The apache used to work the sharp rom that came with the 5500

hey there,

been a long long time since I've used my C1000 Z, but I was wondering. Once upon a time, back in the old days of my 5500 you could install a very useful little applet that put on apache, mysql and php.

Does anything exist like that and is tried and tested for Cacko?

Thanks!

Didn't r121 just come out 3 months ago w/ a 2.6.16 kernel?  When was the last time Sharp had an update for their ROM? OZ came out with 3.5.4.1 in July.... What are you looking for Omro?
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=148180\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

As I understood things, r121 came out and was more of a bugger to install and configure than beta4 and full of all the same old bugs as every other beta for the past year or more.

Isn't OZ on 3.5.4.2? The current Hentges rom is based on that I thought.

What am I looking for? The stable, bug fixed release which Late is talking about sounds very nice to me. However this is what we should have had rather than Betas 2 through 4 and this r121.

I guess the only thing I wanted to find out was if the development for pdaXrom had stopped being a closed, one man band thing, that didn't seem to be going anywhere fast and been opened up to allow all the talented people who were interested in contributing to pdaXrom to tidy it up, fix the bugs and take it forward.

In terms of stable, useable out of the box, releases.... pdaXrom hasn't had one of these in far too long unfortunately.

Hi guys,

I gave up on the Z and pdaXrom for a number of months, thought I'd pop back and see how much progress had been made.

I guess my suggestion for having pdaXrom opened up and for other developers get involved in pdaXrom wasn't such a bad one after all. It seems in all this time no real forward movement has been made. Which is a real shame :-(

If I'm wrong, please correct me, but I think this project seems to have died a death and it's a shame because so many people were so enthusiastic. It could have been avoided.

Is this of any use from the pdaXrom

Also, if you look at the keyhelper.xml file, the following are defined:

If you have more than one task open,

Shift + Home will switch between open tasks.
Shift + Menu will pop up an open task list to select from.

I never knew that, happier still :-)

OMG you've fixed it! I've been trying to sort this for months and never had a clue how.

It's the little things that make you happy :-)

Thank you.

I just had a word with Florian on #GPE and he gave me the following info:

One can import/export using vcards from either the command line or using gpesyncd.
http://gpe.handhelds.org/projects/gpesyncd.shtml and try running contacts from the command line with a -help switch and see what it says.

To access the database itself one can use libcontactsdb (documentation not finished yet):
http://www.kernelconcepts.de/~fuchs/gpe/do...tsdb/index.html

And for raw access here's some info about the database layout:
http://handhelds.org:8080/gpe/wiki?p=GpeDatabaseScheme

As and when you do work out the easiest way, would you mind adding some info to either the wiki.openzaurus.org FAQ or a HowTo (depending on how much you want to write),

Thanks,

Si

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Hentges 3.5.4.2 Rcs Available
« on: September 26, 2006, 05:53:04 pm »
hi

I was wondering, is there a way to get the installer to reformat and resize the flash partitions before flashing the ROM?

If I move from Cacko to Hentges, I always have to resize the flash partitions using Cacko's installer first. Anyway that can happen automatically on Hentges? Saves me a few trips to the desktop with my CF. :-)

Just a thought. No biggie.

Oh and abiword still opens with that weird mauve behind the page.

I'm sure it does, but I have no idea how it does. Any more information you can provide?

is there a way to turn the data into a CSV or XLS?

So....

How do you transfer the data from GPE Address book when you update GPE to another version of the GPE Address book?

Surely there has to be a way to export the data safely out and then back in again?
