I came across this developer's website: http://mamaich.uni.cc/index.htm.  If you click on the WM5 RE link, I believe it says that his work there is a reverse engineered OS of WM5.  He also built his own ROM building tools and it is all freely for download.  Anyone think this work can be made to put Win 5 RE into a Z?

I am thinking about buying the one of the C series, like the C3200? Do any of the Zaurus ROMs run WINE? If so, is there a way to find out which Windows apps would run? Could I run Visual Studio?

And does the C1000 and up series have SDIO? So that I can run WI-FI from the SDIO port?

And does anyone think it can support EV-DO or EDGE through USB? I just read that a company came out w/EV-DO or EDGE for the USB port.

Didn't MS release the source code for Win CE 3.0 or something point something?  If so, would it be possible to use it on the Zaurus??  I haven't been here in many months, only  because I sold my c860...but this idea came to my mind and I just had to ask.

Hi.  Anyone want my Zaurus C860?  I give up...the device is not simple enough for my needs.  So I have it up for sale now.  Actually I have only had it for a few weeks, and bought it off of someone from this same forum (Dan Z?  or P?).  It works great and has OpenZaurus installed.  Here is what I will include:

I got a C860 w/pdaXrom.  I can't seem to get the Service Menu.  I can get the Boot Menu by holding "OK" and turning the PDA on.  

But When I use the procedure to get the the Service Menu (by unlocking batt. cover, holding "d" and "m" and locking batt. cover and letting go "d" & "m") is the Service menu suppose to pop up right away?  Or do I have to press power on?  I've tried this so many times but it doesn't work.

What I wanted to do was revert the C860 to the original ROM...

I have a C860 w/pdaXrom.  Here is what is displayed last on boot:

INIT: version 2.85 booting
INIT: cannot execute "/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit"
INIT: Entering runlevel: 5
INIT: cannot execute "/etc/rc.d/rc"
INIT: Id "1n" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

After this, I am not able to make any input.

This happened after I tried uninstalling some packages (randomly) and rebooted...

What do you guys think of typing on the C Series?  Is it easy?  I don't find it easy and it takes some getting used to.  I always hit the letter next to the intended letter because the letter key layout isn't exactly like a keyboard...if it was, I would be typing so easy.  I wonder why Sharp screwed this up.  And how fast can you guys type w/the C Series PDAs?

Everytime I type in startx on my C860, I get this error:
