Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.4.1 Bluetooth
« on: May 27, 2007, 11:48:02 pm »
I just installed OZ 3.5.4.1 on my Akita and I am not having much luck getting a Bluetooth DUN connection to my T-Mobile phone working. At first I bought an AmbiCom BT2000 and I couldn't get it working on my Zaurus or laptop. So I bought a Belkin f8T020 ver 2 and I got it working nicely on my laptop under Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn. On the Zaurus I have it working except for actually making a ppp connection. I am actually getting very odd behavior where attempts to connect seem to randomly result in either A) I get no debug output  acts like noauth is not defined (peer refused to authenticate), or C) I am getting a loopback detected.

The most frustrating part is that it works like a champ on the laptop. Please no suggestions to use Angstrom unless you have one of these bluetooth cards and have it working under Angstrom. As far as I can tell Angstrom Zaurus support is still beta and I would rather not bodly go with this.

So, any ideas?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Ambicom Bt2000e
« on: April 29, 2007, 07:33:18 pm »
Hello, I am trying to get an Ambicom BT2000E card working on my C1000 running OZ GPE 3.5.4. My problem seems very similar to the one reported in an old post, but that problem was never resolved (https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=22223).

The command cardctl ident reports the card as:
Socket 0:
  product info: "AmbiCom,Inc", "BT2000E", "Bluetooth PC/CF Card"
  manfid: 0x022d, 0x2000
  function: 2 (serial)

/etc/pcmcia/bluetooth.conf has a listing for the card:

card "AmbiCom BT2000E Bluetooth Card"
  version "AmbiCom,Inc", "BT2000E"
  bind "bt950_cs"

But hcitool dev lists no local devices. I looked but I could not find a bt950_cs module anywhere, so I think I am missing something. If anybody is using this card any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to reply via email but there appears to be a problem. Please email me at james@nontrivial.org with your shipping addrress so I can find out how much shipping will be. $400 is fine as long I get payment first and I don't lose money on shipping.

OK, no bites for $500, so I please make an offer. If I don't hear from anybody for a few days it's going on Ebay.

I am selling my used Sharp Zaurus SLC-750. I'm selling it because as cool as it is, I find that I don't actually use it much and I end up leaving it at home a lot. It's in good shape and I bought it new from Japan about a year ago. It is currently flashed with OpenZaurus 3.5.2 although I can flash it with whatever ROM you want. I was using a Cacko ROM before OZ.

It comes with:
 * Original box, CD, and documentation (in Japanese)
 * Belt pouch
 * Charger
 * Sandisk 256 Meg SD card
 * Kodak 8 Meg CF card (Mostly to protect the CF slot)
 * USB cable
 * A large "I don't do windows" sticker (that I can remove if you want)

As I said, it's in good shape, and I am asking $500 US + $10 USPS priority shipping to anywhere in the continental US. I am willing to ship anywhere or something other than USPS but the payment must still be in advance and the shipping costs will probably go up. I am shipping from Oklahoma, USA. PayPal or money order is preferred.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Something Is Killing My Cf Wireless Cards!
« on: January 07, 2005, 11:56:28 am »
OK,

This makes the second D-Link 660W that my Zaurus has killed. Has anybody else had problems like this? The first one almost works, but I get some error about being unable to set the frequency. For the second one, OZ says it's unsupported and cardctl info reports it as a D-Link DCF. Both cards worked flawlessly for a while before this happened.

Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions? Is there a way to reflash these things?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.2 Sync Question/problem

OK, well, as long as I can get it to work. :-) I thought I was missing something, and I'm amazed that I'm the first person to notices this little quirk.

Thanks,

On my SLC-750 some apps look really, really, eye strainingly tiny. Off the top of my head, mahjong and solitaire. Is there a way to "zoom" the screen like you could in the stock ROM?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Oz 3.5.2 Sync Question/problem
« on: January 04, 2005, 02:41:37 pm »
Is anybody else using Qtopia 1.7 to sync with thier Zaurus? It seems to work OK, but I can't figure out how to get Task notes to my Zaurus. Am I missing something obvious? On the desktop you have description for the name and Notes for the text, but on the Zaurus you just have one big description.

And another thing, one would expect some sort of failure, or at least errror message, if one of two critical files apparently were not present, right?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Install Problem
« on: January 03, 2005, 03:27:24 pm »
Why am I not surprised the undocumented problem is so easily fixed. OK, I'll try it tonight. I guess opie likes the cacko kernel well enough to run (until I find some relatively random thing it doesn't) but didn't like the pdaxrom kernel at all.

But what what is the deal with the partition sizes? Does it matter with opie?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Install Problem
« on: January 02, 2005, 11:27:01 pm »
I have no idea how, but I got it working. I had been using the pdaxrom installer to try different partition sizes from 16 Megs to 47 Megs without luck. But then before I gave up I tried one last time with the Cacko installer (after installing cacko 1.22) on a 27 Meg partition and it just worked. I didn't think it would ever work because no matter what I did the installer seemed to stop at around 60%.

But, now that I have it installed at first blush it looks pretty good. My wifi worked once I figured out how to configure it properly. It's too late tonight, but tomorrow I will investigate syncing with my Linux boxen. Can somebody please answer some questions for me please:

 * What, if any, is the magic partition size? Am I wasting space somehow using a 27 Meg partition verses what I assume ought to be 16 Megs?
 * What are my options for syncing with Linux? I assume QTopia desktop, but any particular version? What about MultiSync?
