Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / USB-C
« on: February 21, 2020, 05:58:41 am »
What you good people do get audio out of HDMI cable? I haven't found anything but heard that while using USB-C HDMI cable, audio is not rooted to phone speakers and you get muted if your monitor has no audio.

hello@planetcom.co.uk has always gotten a fast response for me.

An update. I have been issued automatic refund by PayPal as PC did not respond to my dispute within prescribed time. Now I will be exporing other sources for the vary same cable including eBay.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / PSION emulator on Cosmo/Gemini
« on: January 26, 2020, 12:05:57 am »
Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched for PSION emulator on android and cannot find any definitive guides, available stuff is for PC/Windows so negates the purpose of having a PSION in your pocket ..

Why PSION emulator .... because I need a simple, Microsoft or Google or Apple independent simple spreadsheet or just a sum sheet. I did not find any apps from sources other than playstore and haven't infected my device with G virus ... available software I tried and did not liked ... some are preorganized such as My Expenses and do serve their purpose, not as customizable as I want ... I want plain raw calculation sheet

Cosmo Communicator - Hardware / Connectivity Kit
« on: January 25, 2020, 11:43:56 pm »
After unsuccessfully trying to use three hubs from my Mac graveyard (Arc Hub, Dell Adapter with VGA-HDMI-Ethernet, Oscoo and Energizer) I found that none of them work, as long as display was concerned. I didn't try anything other.

Finally I got a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter V2, which works when you select Cast Screen option and check Enable Wireless Display option. As this is HDMI cable replacement, you can connect to other wifi networks for internet or anything and this cable works on sort of its own wifi which remains totally separate to other wifi networks. So far so good. Can mirror the screen, however it doesn't look that fantastic as it is android. Videos play great through, only problem I had is with audio as audio cannot be routed to phone speakers or headphone port for which I have bought an HDMI with 3.5mm audio out port.

To take full advantage of this setup, all I need now if full blown desktop OS, i.e. linux so I can enjoy 1080p display as it should be.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Scam?
« on: January 17, 2020, 11:07:24 pm »
Guys ... I ordered HDMI cable on Planet Website on 4th Jan 2020, order was confirmed and they generated internal tracking which is not a postal tracking. Since than, there has been no update. Went to PayPal and tried to call Planet from PayPal and the number is disconnected. I wrote and email and they did not bother to respond.

Why and what they gain from such an attitude? Are they bankrupt or what? This gives a strong sense of unethical business and sham, shady practices if not an outright scam.

I am clueless what will happen to my order.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Cosmo as bluetooth keyboard
« on: January 03, 2020, 10:38:01 pm »
I am wondering if this can be possibe. At times while i am using external display with my laptop lid closed and if I need to type something minorm it becomes very annoying to open the lid for just few words, such as during browsing. However, Cosmo still sits comfortably on the same table and is perfect for small type/talk.

If I could use Cosmo as a Bluetooth keyboard for my laptop with lid closed and connected to external display, it will surely be an asset giving some retutn on money spent until, offcourse unless we can run full desktop OS on it.

Any suggestions?

I found Librem Mail in F-droid which is almost like for like to Airmail.

In both, I can scroll the message list with arrow keys, however it doesn't open the message which is being selected by the up/down arrow, I still have to tap the message to make it appear in the right side panel (I am using split view). This is really annpying. Any suggestion or alternates?
Have you tried hitting space-bar instead of enter?

(In ProfiMail space-bar is used to "select" a line, but it could be used differently in Librem/Airmail??)

I tried and it worked. Space bar selects the whole message and it gets displayed on the right panel. Arrow keys selects and space bar enters into it.

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Maximum possible DPI
« on: December 17, 2019, 06:03:12 am »
I changed it from 375 to 450 in developer options and display became sharper, altough text became smaller. Just wondering is there a hardware/physical limit to what maximum value can be safely set without creating any issues?

This is my second day with Cosmo and fell in love with it ... It gave me two OTA updates, one for COD and one for main system ... I just plunged in and now my COD is not working ... Cover Display Assistant flashed (every time I tried again and again) the CODI resource image sucessfully but gives an error on flashing firmware image after that. So it stopped working. In Advanced options, nothing works ... Reset Cover Display, Start, Stop etc.

Also two bright blue LEDs glow all the time when Cosmo is closed on the finger print panel ...turning COD on and off has no effect ... I do not know if COD was turned on or off from the drop down menu before the first time flashing ... but I guess it should not be a pre-condition. I tried even factory reset and tried again with same results ...

Any help appreciated ...
Looks like  you can only try again and again until it hopefully works (Try to enable "do not disturb" and "flight mode", so there is less chance for things getting interrupted, at least there have been reports of the update being more reliable then). When I have flashed the update, CODI has been enabled. (Don't know if this is related to success, and still needed two attempts to complete)

It did flash after I turned wifi off ... airplane mode on and DND on as well ... now I am trying to figure out how to access those voice memos which I recorded from the front COD ... first thing Plsnet shoud be doing is making a complete manual available to what ever functions and hardware we at least see, we can use it first ... let other things delivered later
