It\'s a long shot...

It\'s probably not happened, but do non-flash CompactFlash exist? I remember how we used to get JEIDA (aka PCMCIA) memory cards for old laptops, is there a CF version?

It\'d be great to have a fast SDRAM CF card for running a big swap file on. With the new SL-6000 model only having 64MB RAM but with the options of either Bluetooth and/or Wifi built in that\'ll leave the CF slot free for other things.

I thought if the SD had a 512MB card in and the CF card had a SDRAM card in it would increase the processing power of this PDA significantly.

from http://www.compactflash.org/:

The CF+ and CompactFlash Specification Version 2.0 is now available to download. Version 2.0 increases the CompactFlash interface data transfer rate from 8MB/sec to 16MB/sec, while maintaining complete forward and backward compatibility with old and new host systems.

So I guess that even with a fast SDRAM the transfer rate won\'t be that good.
