hehe ... I am one of those lazy bastards ...

In my own defence ... I have a c700 as well which I play with. It alternately has PDAXROM, OZ and Cacko as and when I feel like seeing how things are coming along. The 760 I use every day to do real work, so I don't mess with it. Cacko 1.21b, Opie Terminal and a serial cable have saved my bacon on many occasions!

"Dont Fix it if it aint broke"

so goes the saying in technology circles... so some work with what works best and you dont need to upgrade to get the latest and the best always - hell my previous comany  used WinNT and were not willing to pay microsoft money for every little upgrade it brings to the market - untill of course MS stopped support for it - and thus forced many to upgrade at any cost... but thats a diferent story.

I'm running 1.22 on my 760.  Outstanding piece of work!

The Sharp ROM on my 3000 is nearly useless compared to Maslovsky's excellent ROM.

In regard to the answers, it seems there could be a new poll :`who has two zaurus devices ?`
I can begin and answer:`yes,me!` but with my c3k & 6000l i am the unlucky one who  has the choice between sharp stock rom and nothing else

we should have this poll pinned and maintained in every model specific forum (of course options should be adapted to context) instead of awkwardly placing it in here, the Sharp ROM forum. I have a strange feeling that OZ and pdaX people was too pissed to vote, because of the fact that they have to click that stupid "Sharp ROMs" forum link.

or this should be in the general discussion at least

My initial interest was to see what persentage of Cacko ROM users have actualy chosen the Lite version. Adding other ROM version was a kind of side effect

I have no problem moving this to a more appropriate forum, but I personaly can only move and pin topics withing the Sharp ROM forum.

Also, OZ and pdaX guys - are you that religious to be "pissed off" by simply clicking on "Sharp ROM" link    You're voting against it anyway, so what's the big deal?

I doubt the people who prefer another piece of software are pissed, but who knows...
More probably, they just don't visit a forum they're not interested in (what a new and revolutionary concept  )

Well, I've only had my Z for one day, and within 24 hours I'd already installed Cacko (full version 1.22) as I'd read enough about it on these forums to know that it would be my first try

I will probably try some of the other ROMs at some point, but I have to say that the initial impressions are extremely good!

Thanks for the hard work!

Actually, I have three.  My 5500 runs a generic Sharp ROM, too.

Anton,

To keep you happy, I just installed the 1.22 lite rom on my c700 to see what I think. You have me convinced. I will be putting this on my 760 very soon ...

I'm number three.

I was lazy indeed !  Coming from pdaX, I wanted to try the X/QT pocketworkstation setup. In 1.22 my wifi didn't work "out of the box", and I was too lazy to figure out why! Shame on me!!
So I flashed 1.21b, cause I know it does work on this one.

BTW : the X/QT pocketworkstation thing seems to work just fine.

When I have some spare time, and I don't want to be lazy any longer, I will try 1.22 (did look nice for the hour I tried it)

Cheers,
Chero.

You should really get in touch with Maslovsky. All cards working in 1.21 should work fine in 1.22.

It may be worth noting that some cards are having problems if you have autoconnect checked, for example my Senao card wont connect if I have thus enabled but will work if I select the profile manually. Don't know where the problem lies on this, it certainly worked OK on 1.21.

This may be your problem..... anyone know why this happens??

The sig more or less says it all. I wrote the FAQ on Maslovsky's webpage for 1.22 Lite + Japanese so that's what I use  I ended up choosing 1.22+J in the poll, though. I didn't read what the poll's purpose was beforehand, or I'd have chosen 1.22 lite.

1.22 lite was a fantastic option for me.  I had over 100mb of free space afterwards - and even with the full Japanese support (datafiles on SD) I've got 70mb of free space left after installing all my software. It leaves menus less cluttered with things you'll never use.

I've got a "mule" bring back a 3000 this month, and I'll be sorely missing Cacko on it. I'll probably end up either trying to roll my own or offering help to Maslovsky over getting Cacko going on the unit.
