Geeks.com has the Magistore 2.2 GB Microdrive on sale for a mere $65 US. This is NOT an April Fools joke BTW http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthread.ph...76189#post76189[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=73202\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Well, I got mine in and it seems to be defective. (Tested in 3 computers under 2 different OS's with 3 different CF readers, in a 1000, 3000, 860, 5500, an Ipaq 3635, and with a CF->IDE adapter). It's going back for RMA. [div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=76354\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
Go ahead. Maybe it is defective. They are trash, though. They use non-standard voltage, and are really really slow... causing all kinds of timing errors.I rma'd one, got another. Had it kinda manually working for a while on my 5600. It was such a pain I traded it for some cable.bleccchhhyukk.NOT a good piece of hardware--- see if you can apply the exchange to something else you might want: You'll be happier if you do.edit: it appears they work in the 3k. they don't in the 6k do off and on in the 5600, and are rumored to be ok on the 5500.[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=76358\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
I don't know. People say they have had them working. I have had them lock up processes on laptops and well powered desktops before. You' ve seen the problem already--- super-high latency. what seems to happenis that the latency causes the thi ng to get disconnected--a lot of "stopping scsi" type errors.Even when it seemed to be working well, it would randomly die and lock stuff up (again I am talking about my second one here) during large file transfers.I hope it works out for you..adf[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=76424\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]
