Today I will update kernels to newer version - with one more fix for APM.

I hate to break my own rule "keep replies on topic" but...
Does anyone know if the buzzer as dsp code is in this kernel?
Ie at one point someone had a driver to make the buzzer behave like a dsp device. You could play any sound over the buzzer(albeit very badly).
GPE doesn't seem to use the buzzer. I've taped a CF case containing cut down ear bud speakers onto the back of my Z just so the calendar alarms would work. This solution works but is UGGLY.
I'd really like to link /dev/dsp to the buzzer device and be happy....
(I included this one since hrw seems to be building the kernels for the 5500...sorry to be off topic)
(pps- THANKS HRW! It's awesome what you're doing. I'll pay $25 for a working SL-5500 64/0 kernel that supports buzzer/dsp and apm(reliably) and no right arrow suspend. Email me at bsaunder2002 somewhere yahoo com to collect.)
