If you have some better ideas for any part of it let me know what they are.  If it doesn't take too long, maybe I'll implement them.
Sure. Im stuck in bed right now (I hate you, fever!) but I'll let you know
Bummer.  Get better soon!!  (And you too, JoP!)

Also, Z is on holiday, which is why any real work hasn't been done for a while.

- Me too!  (shrug)  Hope you don't!

- I installed v2.1.4 last night, just 'cause I could, and I don't see any *obvious* differences.  I also installed "kmobildphoneaccess", but it doesn't seem to have done anything, either.  I tried to configure BlueZ to allow multiple channels, and link KA/PI to the phone with it, but that went over like a lead balloon.  Not KA/PI's issue, but I am kinda curious how one gets this to link/sync/talk to a phone?

- I did find a post about KA/PI 2.0.16 where someone in Japan is talking to their phone, but nothing else.  Is there a HowTo for that?  I haven't found one, though it wasn't for lack of trying.  'Course that "trying" thing hasn't always worked in the past!  (snicker)...

I installed 2.1.0 today in Windoze 98 machine.
There are missing buttons, menus, etc. in Kapi.
Kopi works right, though.
Is this a known issue?

Let me try kmobilephone again and I'll tell you something (or tell us if you got it working)
I tried it with an older version and it somehow worked, but with weird results too. I don't think there's anything new in last versions, either.
I got a Siemens mobile and there are some specific Siemens commands too, but I'm not sure how to use them...

(I've sent this from my c-1k, yeah!)

Where is Zautrix? Haven't seen him and his posts for quite a few days. Is he in vacation?

Yes. We'll probably have more exciting things to report at the beginning of next month, after the KDEPIM-NL meeting. 3 days of banging + testing code and yelling at lazy maintainers, who wouldn't re-enlist for that shit, i ask of you

Very little bluetooth work/testing has been done, so that tends to go the way of the dodo, yes. I'm hoping we can fix some of that at the meeting.

Writing user-centric doc has been on the todo-list for a while, but it's very time consuming, and as unbelievable as it sounds I do have a private life

Would you like some help with the documentation? I'm a professional technical writer and write user manuals for a living. While I don't have a lot of free time to commit towards many projects, I'll be happy to start the ground work for a manual by beginning with the most commonly used procedures and expanding from there. (Maybe a KDE-PIM Wiki...?)

It seems the least I can offer for a program that I use every day as my primary PIM. Zaurii: 5500 and a 6000. Available desktop operating systems: Windows XP Home and Professional, Mac OS X 10.3.9, Fedoroa Core 2.

You guys have done an excellent job on the application. It would be nice to contribute documentation to something that might actually be used.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks.

Ceffyl: definitely. You can mail me (ben AT talon DOT nl) and we can get started. What would be best is a basic rundown, then a good/bunch of howto's. Let me know, and thanks
Lutz and I figured out a new phone number edition GUI at the  meeting. We also started a good talk on general purpose syncing with them, so look forward to some improvements there.

Hi.  Anyone here have a list of the QCOP messages that KO/Pi and KA/Pi respond to?  I know they respond to raise().  I'm looking for ones that make KO/Pi show a particular piece of itself like the journal or the New Event dialog and ones that make KA/Pi do things like beam my contact info.

I'd like to assign some of these messages to the buttons on my 5500.

Look in the Alarm applet source (it does exactly that: create new todo/events).

Ok... So I finally had enough time to mess around with importing my Outlook 2K data into KDEPIM.  KA/Pi grabbed my data without a hiccup.  So all is looking good there.  However, when I use KO/Pi to import my OL2K records it crashes.  Specifically:

File->Import OL
Select Calendar
Click Import
Watch as thermometer increments to 100%
Click OK on dialog that says 2185 entries were read.
Close the Import dialog

CRASH!

I now have the ever so wonderful "Send/don't send info to M$oft" dialog.

I did a search for this issue, and as usual, can't find anything about it.  I grabbed the 2.1.0 XP version of the Windoze apps, and the helper DLL's.  So I think I'm good there.  Any suggestions as to how to solve this?

Thx....

While I have noticed that it has improved over time, one thing that I still find irksome about KO/Pi is the redraw rate. For example, when switching to the Month view, I can see the cell/widget for each day being drawn. I was wondering if double-buffering had ever been considered? Has it already been attempted (or is it already being used?).

I would take a crack at it myself, but I've looked at the source for pim/pi before, and was a little overwhelmed by the complexity (and the not so simple compilation method).

Just an idea.
