Wondering what is the "best" solution for GPS with a C3000.

I live in the USA so maps of the USA is very important.

What GPS card do you have?
What software do you use?
Any particular cards to avoid?

Thanks
Chris

I have a Billionton GPS card, which works fine with qpeGPS. I had a few issues in getting it all going:
1. If you insert the card before running qpeGPS, all seems fine. Otherwise, you may need to say in a console:
cardctl resume 0
to give the gps card a kick.
2. After downloading maps, nothing worked because qpeGPS uses gif2png, which needs zlib, which doesn't seem to be installed by default The maps are downloaded as gifs, but they need to be converted to png for qpeGPS to be able to use them, and that needs gif2png. I found zlib_1.1.4_arm.ipk on the qpeGPS home page, but it was only listed with older versions of qpeGPS (which is why I had ignored it previously). I downloaded it anyway and installed it, and it made things work.
(To make things work right, make sure you download and install zlib before you ask qpeGPS to download any maps).

Don't know about any cards to avoid - I only have the one, and it now works very nicely!

Credits: Thanks to euroclie and Trisoft who helped when I was stuck over this.

Hope it helps

John

As of yet I have not purchased a GPS card yet, and I want to make sure I do not buy a card that won't work with my C3000.

Hoping to get input frrom others on cards they have that work and the programs they like best.

Thanks for your input
