Cacko Rom 1.23 For C1000 Progress

Guys, just wanted to let you know that I finaly was able to actualy start working on Cacko ROM for my new C1000 Zaurus! First thing, of cource, is to build a working kernel with all the nessesary patches and drivers included. I started off a testu special kernel set of patches, tweaked some of them a bit (a couple of them broke compilation process) and was able to boot into my own custom kernel

That's good because now I can get all missing patches from Cacko ROM 1.22 kernel and join Andy (aka aimasmith) with the ROM tweaking

Excellent!,

I notice that tetsu has unified the 1000/3000 Kernel now (v18a) so I guess we have a really consistent starting point.

Pretty much finished with the kernel stuff. There are problems with the updated wireless hostap drivers (or to be presice with Sharp network applications, drivers themselves work just fine), so I'm sticking with default wlang-ng for now.

Now moving to actual ROM development/porting...

Fantastic news!

Does this including the patching necessary for putting wireless cards in scanning more for things like Wellenreiter, or does using the default wlan-ng drivers preclude that?

nice work. i might get a c1000 just to play with. btw, are you going to port the drivers for the pretec presenter as well? i would be willing to buy the card and help test the drivers if there is a chance it will be working sometime in the near future

I don't think it's been released yet.  I'm sure maslovsky will post an update (with URLs) when he has something working

OK, today I got Cacko 1.23 ROM boot into my C1000 for the first time. As soon as I clear some of the issues I'll make it available for closed beta testing...

Is this release also valid for the C3000? I'm still without WLAN as the Ambicom WL1100C v2.2 doesn't function, and it would be nice to have WPA security in addition to WEP if possible?

If not, are there any updates in the C1000 release that could be released as a patch for the C3000 release?
