CoreDump:
Thank you for your hard work...this is great.
I have a few remaining problems:
1. Can't get my SanDisk ConnectPlus to work with your install. I did exactly what I did for the 3.5.3 OZ install and it is recognized by name but no light goes on. I installed hostap-utils, prism firmware and prism support. It worked after the install of those files in the regular OZ 3.5.3.
2. I have OpieMail sending but when it receives or if you click on the Inbox, it gives an "Error initializing folder" message. Each time it tries to connect to get mail, that error appears in the taskbar.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance.

I can't comment on your WLAN card since I do not own one of these, sorry. It should work as good or as bad as in a stock 3.5.3 ROM.
I'll play w/ opie-mail tomorrow and see what I can find out.

Followup:
Solved the email problem. I uninstalled OpieMail and installed QtMail...it works fine for sending and receiving email.
Got an Opera working - sort of - it keeps giving an error if you go to pages with lots of images - have to use the column only mode. This is despite having followed instructions posted here on how to increase the cache in the opera.ini file. There must be some other place to correct the cache problem but I haven't found it.
But the main reason I wanted to switch to the OZ ROM is now not a factor - I wanted a working Sandisk Connect Plus card and it STILL is not working with your ROM.
The Z also fails to start after a suspend longer than a few minutes and must be restarted with a soft reset. Then on bootup I nearly always get a message that there is something wrong with my SD card and it asks to repair it. I have been saying "yes".
The SanDisk Connect Plus problem has a new twist. As you may know the SanDisk Connect Plus worked great as a network card in every OZ 3.5.3 install I tried it in. It just does not work in the Hentges ROM. But I discovered that, in a way, it works as a memory card now:
First off Windows XP recognizes the card as a memory card(always has) and I have put some doc files on it, but the Z has never recognized it as a memory card - when it is inserted the icon pops up with the proper description of the card but if you try to access it in the documents tab or in any application, it shows NO cf card.
Now in the Hentges ROM (may work in the regular OZ install also - I don't know). If you go to File Manager and open up the CF card, it has some directories nested in each other so I tried to copy files to the Sandisk card in File Manager and it worked. However, you cannot "see" those files except in FM (and maybe console). You cannot "see" those files when you connect the Sandisk card back to Windows XP. Instead in XP only the docs show which I had originally put there. The docs do not show up in FM on the Z. Interesting, huh?
Anyway, there is a document in the PCMCIA folder which describes steps to take to get the SanDisk to work...should I follow these instructions? Since ALL my installs including the hostap-utils, prism3 firmware and support have been installed to the SD card, I thought I would check with you first before I try these instructions which look like Greek to me:
To make a prism3 card w/ downloadable firmware work, do the following:
0.) Install hostap-utils
1.) Add "needs_reset yes" and "needs_firmware hostap_fw_load" to
the proper interface in /etc/network/interfaces
2.) echo -e "#!/bin/sh\nifdown wlan0" >> /etc/apm/suspend.d/ifdown
3.) chmod a+rx /etc/apm/suspend.d/ifdown
4.) echo -e "#!/bin/sh\nifup wlan0" >> /etc/apm/resume.d/ifup
5.) chmod a+rx /etc/apm/suspend.d/ifup
Do you think this will get it working?

Maybe you or someone else can get a clue as to what's wrong.
Thanks!
