What ROMS are you using?

Just wanted to see what everybody is using, add comments if you want.

Sharp, mainly because I\'ve had it for less than a week.  When I get some free time, I\'m going to mess around with OZ.

How long have you been using the \"special\" kernel, and have you had any problems with it (i.e., lockups)?

I have a SLC860 and almost immediately put the cacko Qtopia ROM onto it. It works wonderfully. I have 2 other Linux machines at home and an IMac, but my synch has to be with Exchange at work. More than anything, this keeps me from the X11 ROM.

The only unfortunate side is that I believe the cacko Qtopia ROM is \"functionally stabilized\" - no active development since that team is moving onto the X11 version full force.

I read some posts with the TKC ROM requiring tweaks to program ipks so haven\'t tried that one plus not having a kernel in it, it is confusing as to which kernels work well or not at all with the TKC ROM.

I used the cacko qtopia 117 rom and then went to the tkcrom keeping the cacko kernel (might not be much different than the stock).  I have had no problems with this setup

I use the Sharp 3.1.  I\'m actually quite interested in going to OZ but I\'m afraid my keyboard (Flexis - USB connected) won\'t work.  I really like that keyboard!

I\'ve been using Sharp 3.1, have everything config\'d the way I need it.  OZ is would be fun to have on there, but I need an organizer more than a pocket computer.  Guess the solution is a 2nd zaurus

I use:

5600 = oz (looking to get those security packages going, plus 5600 makes a good test)

c700 = cacko x11

c760 = cacko x11

although I may go to cacko qt (118) on the 700... for now, it\'s x11.

I use the TKC Rom1 on my 5500.

While waiting for the \"fabled\" TKC Rom 2 for the 5500
 

Or for IRK and bluez drivers for the GCC 3.2 OZ!

I\'m using a sightly modified TKC Rom1 image.  It\'s got the version of /root/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit script that I sent to Proto for the tkc rom 2 alpha3 build, which allows including an additional rc script from the SD card on bootup.  This in turn allows the creation of home-on-sd, which is reversable (boot without the SD card, an your home is in ram, with the specially prepared SD, you get home on SD).

This has also allowed me to put the OZ contents on an SD card, and with a bit more tweaking, I can mount the SD as root and dual-boot between the TKC rom and OZ.

I would still be on the Sharp 3.1, or might have kept tkcROM 1.0, but OZ 3.3.6pre1 is so pretty.
And far more importantly, it successfully runs my TrendNet TEW222CF wireless card.  I also appreciate the graphical WLAN sniffing applet

I\'m quite surprised that at this time of the vote (41) only 9 % use Cacko\'s ROMs each. I would have expected a higher percentage. I\'m currently customizing the Cacko X11 ROM to my needs, having had all available ROMS on my Z. If I would go back from the X11 ROM I would mix Cacko\'s and the TKC ROM, I guess.

Well the X11 ROM is not officially released and does not have PIMs yet.  The cacko QT ROM is the last in its line.  Both are limited to the C series Zs.
