I upgraded some packages yesterday to 4.3.90.1 (which is the 4.4 beta1 release that was released last monday).
Thunar has been upgraded to 0.3.0 (beta1) too. It has been recompiled after compiling xfdesktop to be able to provide desktop icons (without rox). It kinda works, but there's some work to do.

About the battery applet : the xfce4-panel has been completely rewritten for this release. All the goodies have to be upgraded, some are ready, others aren't. I'll have to check if the battery applet has been upgraded already.

The matchbox applet doesn't provide all the info, but it shows the correct status for me (AC/Battery, red when running out of juice, ...). The good thing is that it sets the correct backlight and auto-suspend settings when changing from battery to AC.

I'll try to create some "non-experimental" packages later this week or the beginning of next week. The current packages include the "devs" and don't have any dependencies.

For those who want to try, you need at least gtk2, gnome-vfs and libxml2.

Thanks for the feedback.

Have fun,
Chero.

Chero,

I have tried your newest experimental packages (after removing my .config and .cache directories) and they are great!  The only problem I had from the start was there is no libxfce4mcs package on your server anymore.  I installed the older experimental one and everything works find.

This release is even more stable.  I haven't been able to crash the panel yet after setting it up the way I want.  With the older experimental packages I have to edit panels.xml to remove the second panel, with this release the GUI works great.  I like that you have added back in the gtk themes and really like the defaults you have gone with.  The only other problem I have is adding keyboard shorcuts:  when I create a new scheme and add shortcuts to it it works fine.  If I go back in to add more shortcuts, my scheme does not show up and I cannot create a new one unless I remove ~/.xml and start over.  This isn't too big of a deal for me, but it is the only thing I have found so far.

Thanks again for the great work!

I dont know if this has been asked previously or not (I didnt see it)

Is there a way to disable or hide the running task icons that show up on the Rox Pinboard?

Since I use the Taskbar on XFCE I see no sense in having them appear... if this has been answered before sorry...

Thanks

Hi,

libxfce4mcs is back online.

About shortcuts : it seems to be a known bug. So waiting for upgraded versions seems to be the thing to do. I haven't tried it myself, my old shortcuts still work.

About the running (minimized) apps in rox : I don't know, but you can disable these in the new xfdesktop.
Read about the major changes in xfce4 4.4beta1 over here.

Have fun.

Rox is what handles the pinboard... So I think it a Rox hack that I will have to find... there has to be somewhere in the config to disable them... Am I the only get that gets this?... They would really come in handy if I was running matchbox that doesnt have a taskbar...

Well... if and when I find something I will let everyone know.

Thanks Chero and keep up the good work

I found some upgraded (unofficial) plugins while googling :

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

They will be uploaded in an hour or so.

There are some more I've found, I'll try to add them later.

Chero:
I'm liking the upgrade    Thanks!
I've installed the Terminal ipk but I get a missing libte.so.4 error and same for xfce4-terminal.

Otherwise so far so good!

for screenshots : [a href=\"http://users.telenet.be/zaurususer/screens2/index.html]http://users.telenet.be/zaurususer/screens2/index.html[/url]

is it "libte" or "libvte" ? I had to install vte to compile things . The Depends will be added in the final ipkgs.

BTW : battery and sytemload plugin uploaded.

Some trick to have correct light and power settings : I created a second panel and made it autohide. The systray with the mb-battery-applet is on that one. On the first panel I'm running the xfce4-battery-plugin. This gives me correct management and a nice look at the same time.

Have fun,
Chero.

My bad, it was libvte

Installing vte fixed it. I'm liking the Terminal app, I may not need mrxvt any more.

Will mousepad included in your ipks?

Thanks,
Jerry

Mousepad will be included.

I've added a few panel plugins (netload, fsguard and diskperf). I'm not sure about diskperf, I can't figure out how to set it up.

Does anybody know where the 4.4 compatible mount-plugin source is ? I can't find it, but I read somewhere it has been ported.

Have fun,
Chero.

I don't have to give a "command" for netload.
The only thing I had to set myself was "Network device:" which I set to "wlan0"

What are the right settings?

Thanks.

I don't understand how it works, so I simply set a command:

conn. command: pppd file /etc/ppp/peers/MYPROFILE
disc. command: /etc/ppp/ppp-off

It works also if they aren't the right parameters...
