If you chose No or Maybe, please elaborate or post a suggestion. I'm pretty sure that the openbsd.org/zaurus.html page linking to this forum would be OK with the webmasters of oesf.org. Offroadgeek - any comments?

Obscurite,
i voted yes, but we don't need only a link to the forum.

The most important thing would be:
"The ultimate newbie guide to SUCCESSFULLY (!) install OpenBSD
on your Zaurus"

It's unbelievable how many users brick their units (SL-C3000/3100)
while trying to install OpenBSD. We never had this problem before
with any of the other alternative Roms (Cacko, OpenZaurus etc.).

Just our 0.02 EUR

Marc, that sounds great. A big challenge in OSS is always finding people willing to maintain accurate and timely information!

Perhaps the OpenBSD/zaurus maintainers will take the best info from this forum, from various sites on the internet, and conflate it into some kind of uber guide.

Or, you guys could write it.

I did'nt *know* I'd be mobbed ;)

Mainly because i *hate* forums.  I hate having to launch a browse just to read
messages. I hate replying via firefox (it is a pain to try to reply  via  elinks/link+).
I hate  having to use the damn rodent/mouse to add my reply. And I absolutelate *hate*
those evil blinky icons! Hehehe. Another view[0].

Being subscribed to a dozen+ lists, its a breeze to view, reply and archive  messages
through mutt.

Barry,

If the arm list wasn't growing cobwebs I would agree

It's too bad the web became so very non-SMTP like. That said, I see no reason that forum software couldn't have a "mailing list mode" for those who prefer an SMTP based interface.

I grew up on BBS systems. Even the most rudimentary systems without fancy terminal emulation had menu systems and other interactive elements. Most actually let you use the arrow keys to move things arround. Those were some of the most stimulating days of my life (in a social and technical context). So, I think there's a call for centralized interfaces sometimes... but I certainly agree that SMTP is lower maintenance!

Heh, tell this to Theo

I doubt that BSD developers would ever consider that, but that's just my opinion.

That's really scary. I do NOT want to brick a 700 dollar device

I could be wrong but I don't think anyone has bricked their device permanently... TRISoft - can you confirm that all brickings have been reversible?

Any linking to/from the bsd site is fine with me.

I will also look into a "mailing list mode" option for the forums.  I know there are a number of people who would prefer that option.
