I'm looking for a database that can run on the Zaurus (C3000) and on a PC running Mandriva. I've been using portabase on the Zaurus, but I've not been able to find any RPMs for it for Mandriva.

I'd like to be able to make databases I create on the palmtop available to people running linux on the desktop.

Does anyone have any information about running the same database on both palmtop and destktop? I'd welcome any advice.

There is mysql and sqlite for both the Z and desktops. Mysql is more common so it might be easier to find a gui interface if needed.

JCards runs under java on most anything

Looks like Portabase has a version for Linux but not in an RPM installer format. Their project page on sourceforge http://sourceforge.net/projects/portabase shows support for Linux distros & the X11 display. Looks like you could use the Tar/GZip version from the download page - would require a little more manual work.

MySQL might work on both the Zaurus and Mandrake but you don't get a GUI with it. TheKompany sells a port of the ReKall app that has been ported to the Zaurus platorm. I have not tried the tkc products on either environments - I just remembered reading about them on other posts. Good luck.
