LD,

I downloaded and tried to run the dgen program.  It initially opens a black background window on the screen then crashes with a \"Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)\" error.  I have tried numerous ROMs all with the same result.  The only one which appeared to work for a little bit before crashing was \"Sonic 1\".  It crashes after the SEGA logo draws on the screen.  I hope this helps out...

Thanks for all the work,

I had the same problem trying to run dgen under debian chroot. There used to be an arm binary of dgen in the debian distribution, but it seems to have disappeared in the last 6 months.  If you get it working, could you inform the debian dgen package maintainer?

I will do that.  I am still not too sure what the issue is.  It doesn\'t seem that it is an SDL problem so I am thinking it may be an issue with the cross compiling (I use some peices from the x86 compile in order to get everything working correctly).  I am going to do some straces today.

I just got the same problem as OpKnight after a clean install. There were no install instructions and no link of libraries so I had to guess and installed the sdl package off the cacko X11 feed just to get dgen to run.

As far as I can tell it crashes the moment it tries to play a sound, and there\'s no switch to disable sound in this dgen.

Hope this helps

Dgen gets its configuration from a file called dgen.rc

Try grabbing a dgen.rc from some other version and set it to no sound.
