C3000 Planex Cf11: Who Is Able To Run It?
« on: October 10, 2005, 01:50:12 am »
I was amazing when I saw the opie desktop after the installation of openzaurus.
But after two days of hacks in google, I am thinking to give up, because my Planex CF11 wlan card
seems to be alergic to Zaurus.
in fact, even if I can see the ap signal on the network->setting, I can access the HTTP.
Anyone succedeed in this wokr?

Yes, I have the Planex card working on SL-C1000 and SL-C3000 with Sharp ROM thanks to the driver they published here:
[a href=\"http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://support.ezaurus.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsupport.ezaurus.com%26num%3D100%26hl%3Den%26hs%3DKLF%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dfirefox%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:unofficial]Translated driver page[/url]
The SL-C3100 has the driver pre-installed.

Hello
I have been successful in running this card in OZ on a c3000.  Did you try the kernel in the OZ updates feed?  The older kernel dated in April did not work for me, but the kernel dated in May did.  The Planex card is a prism3 device.  After using the updated kernel the card was recognised as a Sandisk Connect Plus, but connected to my AP with WEP regardless.  Wireless for this card is much nicer and hassle free in OZ than Sharp Rom.  Use the driver Mr. Figlabs proposed for Sharp Rom w/ standard Kernel or use the updated wlan-ng package (pre26) if you have tetsu's special kernel 18b.

Hope this helps.  Dont get discouraged.  The card really works.

Waiting for next Z.  Will still hang out here to offer help when I can.

Do you know what the OZ guys have done to achieve this? I might try and port it to the Sharp ROM.
Cheers

I don't know what they did differently.  I assume that in the newer kernel (May) they have included the prism3 modules.  Unlike in Sharp Rom where there is a seperate IPK to install the modules.  So there is no filddling with packages, it just works "out of the box" with OZ provided you keep up with the newer kernels.

Also in OZ, (im not sure if its something to do with the kernel or not) it seems to find my AP about twice as fast then Sharp Rom.  With Sharp Rom it takes about 10 seconds of initializing and lots of flashing from the status light on the card to connect to my AP.  On OZ it may be less than 5 seconds to connect.

As far as I can tell, the IO-Data WN-B11/CFZ is the same card and I currently have it working under Cacko 1.23 ROM.

Thank you. can you point me out where I shall download the May-kernel? I dowloaded it from the folder "updates", I copied the zImage into the SD card and did all necessary installation procedures.
At the firts boot, linux stop and says me: Can mount /mnt/hda
Why?
Thank you a lot again
