I'll Start It Off!
« on: November 10, 2005, 10:42:56 pm »
Hey, here are my Z-mods so far.  I had a light mod, but my electrical contacts wore out.  Restored it back to stock with some black epoxy.  Then I had the idea of adding a better antenna to the wireless card!  That is still there and works great.  My next mod will either be a ram upgrade or bluetooth.  If I go blurtooth I want to add an antenna just like my wifi, so it would have 2 antennas like an access point on top.

Zaurus light.

First version of my wireless mod.

Final version of antenna.
What's this button do??

Nice job on the light.  I'd like to add one to my SL-5500, but my wife would hate me surfing the net from our bed...

Did the "wireless" mod include internal wifi?  Is that on a 6000?  or is that a CF card?

I know it's an old thread, but does anyone happen to have a mirror of BarryW's modding pages? Shame they've gone 404.

Did you try http://archive.org?  Or put some key phrase into google to search it's new address out if it's still out there?

The wayback machine should have archived the site if he didn't deny robot access.

great idea, but various searches gave nothing, and the one that did (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://homepage.mac.com/barrywoods)  give "not in archive", which is weird.

if barryW is still around, I am happy to host a mirror/archive of his photos!

I copied and pasted the top URL into archive.org and got the page, but there was very little text and no photos (just "broken imgae" icons).

I don't recall if they archived images.  You may need to look at the source and ask archive.org for each image, one at a time, if you can figure out the original urls for each image.  Sorry I don't have time to do that now.
