Resetting Mail App
« on: November 30, 2005, 07:35:23 am »
Mail on my 860 will not boot at all (it's the standard Sharp rom and app). It had been behaving oddly for a short while previously, but now will not start up at all (the screen briefly appears and then dies immediately). Anyone got any idea about setup files etc to delete in order to give it a fresh start? I'm not particularly bothered about losing the existing messages, I just want it to start working again...

Thanks,

James

you could also start it by console (qtmail) and see what it burps up.
I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

Isn't the inbox and outbox in the Applications/dtm directory?

Thanks, I found the mailboxes (was confused by having files on both SD card and flash memory) and got it working again. Ah, all that email I didn't need to keep :-) Regularly wiping out a mailbox is very cathartic, I find....
