I was wondering if anyone had GPS working on their Z?  If so, could you please go into detail on your setup?  I was wondering if their are drivers out their for any CF GPS cards?  This would be really cool if i could have wifi and gps going at the same time (wardriving), any idea's?

On the sl-6000L check out this link (using the globalsat BC-307 compact flash unit):

My only complaint is that qpegps is not very detailed software to use. No waypoints or route planning unless I just don't know how to do it. But otherwise the driver works great, and my location shows up on maps. As I drive, (here in the USA) my map shows my progress. So far I have not been able to get gpsdrive or other software to work. I hope for a package that works with gpsdrive (or equivalent) one day.

So this will only work on the 6000?  Any word on the 5500?

This would be hard to do on anything except the 6000, since the cf slot can only hold *either* a wifi card *or* a gps card at the same time. Sdio on 5500 (if I recall correctly) is not physically connected/wired, meaning no wifi or gps in sd slot. (sdio in other models is physically wired but driver support is sketchy at best.) Also the 5500 has no usb host, although there are cf usb cards in existence, if you can find and afford them.

I have the Pharos/MSFT gps that came in with Streets and Trips 2005/6.  I had to buy the cf adapter seperate because MSFT decided to screw with the usb to serial cable that comes with it and it won't work without some minor kernel hacking.  Anyway...   I can get the gps to work, I can get kismet to work, I can't get kismet to see the gps though.  I'm thinking it has something to do with permission problems but haven't had the time to check in on it.  This is on a 6000 by the way.
What's this button do??

If you want to use a gps and a wifi at the same time, you could use a serial gps and one of the zaurus serial cables. This is what I did on mine. (Gps, no Wifi). I have no idea on how well the serial gps would work with kismet.

Or, you could use USB for the wifi.  You might even get better range this way because the CF cards are all optimized for low power usage.

EDIT: Oh I see you're asking about the 5500.  My idea would work on a 6000, 1000 or 3x00.
