Hi,

I'll happily contribute $30 towards a 5600 for the OZ team.

[snip]
Any contributers?

Robert Jenkins.

Count me in for $30. I am very happy with what I am seeing in 3.5.4 and would love to see our poodles supported in the future.

OK, that's three promised contributions (including me) in a day, I will go for the 5600 that's currently on ebay & hope there are one or two more contributions over the next few days.

I bought a 5600 myself a few months ago & hope to do some development or debugging once I get my head around the Bitbake system..

Robert Jenkins.
(rjenkinsgb on ebay - I hope no one on here is also bidding on the same 5600!)

Oh well, tried for two 5600s so far but price passed $200 on each.

I'm not prepared to go beyond that until there are more promises of contributions, but I will keep trying up to that point as others appear on ebay.

10 Euros (should be a little more than 10$) from me.
Sorry, not more.
And perhaps this zaurus can go to Richard Purdie for some weeks first

I would lend my zaurus for some weeks. I'm not using it anymore and probably will not make much of it until there is a 2.6 kernel.

I could chip in $15.  I don't see any more good 5600 auctions on ebay though.  Let's keep the thread going though, I would really like to see an OZ developer with a 5600!

Hi folks, I started the thread but then got busy and haven't had time to check back in. I'm in for $15 and will happily send it to rjenkins via PayPal. (And a big thanks to rjenkins for leading out).

Someone just posted an item on eBay that would be an ideal candidate for a dev machine (i.e. scuffs, no protective screen, etc.). BuyItNow is for $175 and includes shipping.

I just checked back & noticed that the unit was bought. By us / Robert? Or did we lose it?

I just did a quick search and there's at least [a href=\"http://cgi.ebay.com/329-Sharp-Zaurus-PDA-SL-5600-Camera-Card-Set-NR_W0QQitemZ5877747927QQcategoryZ38331QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem]one more[/url] up for auction right now. I'd try for it, but I'd wanna hear back from Richard first to make sure we're not bidding against each other .

Edit: And another one. They're selling like hot cakes!!

Well, the first one went for $150 US. Anybody here get it? Anybody here care?

I'd be willing to go for the second one (it's in Canada, I'm in Canada, but I'd arrange to have it shipped straight to the appropriate OZ developer, whereever he/she is), but I'd like to hear back from Robert to make sure we're not competing. Robert, I'll PM you.

Robert gave his ebay user id:

I would say just watch for his username as one of the bidders. Otherwise I'd be more than happy to Paypal you with my contribution if you win the auction.

Any news on the purchasing?  If it hasn't been bought yet, I'm in for $20.

Hey guys,

Glad to see that we're still trying to get a 5600 for the OZ developers.  I have a friend that's willing to sell his for $225.  If you want to go with that let me know, and I'll get it arranged.

Maybe it's time to reaffirm our pledges for this (unless you've done so in the last week).

I'm in for $50 to the one who sources the Z for us, plus a matching donation straight to the OZ team. I think this is worth paying for.

C'mon guys. Anti up.
