I just talked with one user on #gpe - our 2.6 kernel hacker Richard Purdie will get poodle for shipping costs.

So sooner or later we will get 2.6 on poodle

Is that the only poodle machine needed? I feel like we've got some momentum from users to get poodle better supported so we might as well take advantage.

If we don't need to purchase a poodle for development can we donate our money somewhere else where it would be more useful?

I agree. Even forging on & getting the second poodle might still not be a bad idea. Imagine what could be accomplished with TWO poodles in developers hands .

Hrw, please let us know your recommendation. Should our $$ go towards a second poodle, or would it be better served going straight to the OZ project?

I think that second poodle wont be wasted - this will allow us to work on 2.6 kernel (RP) and work on getting 2.4 based images working better.

It would be best to get pxa250 & pxa255 so we could easily test anything - but even if we got poodles with same CPU I think that users will help if we will need to test something on their poodles

Are there any other acceptable methods of donating money? Such as maybe a bank cheque? I'm not a fan of using online pay systems.

Just when I was thinking the thread was dying, a new user pops up! .  Thanks for the pledge, Martin.

So, what's happening out there?

Robert. I noticed that there's no Z's for auction right now. Any luck?

CubicleLord, is you're friend's Z still up for sale?

Hrw, has Richard recieved his yet?

Yep, he'll still sell it.  I'm pretty sure it's a PXA250, and not a PXA255 though.

kewl. By my count we're up to $115 (assuming US$?) + 15 € (I'm not sure what the conversion is) in re-confirmed pledges. So we're almost there. Anybody else want to throw their hat in the ring?

WE'RE SO CLOSE!!

CubicleLord, where's your buddy located? And Hrw, where should we have the unit sent? It would be nice if we could match up the countries (would save on shipping & duties).

thanks all

Good news.  I got my buddy to go down on price, to $160 (for the Z5600, Power Cable, and Dock), plus whatever it takes to ship it wherever.  We guess if they're in the US, then it shouldn't be more than $10.

BTW, my buddy and I are both located in Utah, USA.

New to the group - I'll jump in for $50.00 US.   I've got a 5600 (250 cpu) and would _love_ to contribute to getting some of the 5600-specific problems resolved (like my SD card stopping working in 3.5.4 after trying to install abiword - now works under the Sharp rom image, but not OZ - how's _that_ for weird?)
