[span style=\'font-size:21pt;line-height:100%\']Zim 0.17  - a desktop wiki and outliner:[/span]

I compiled and packaged single file with zim and all perl dependencies(Glib, Gtk2, File::MimeInfo, File::DesktopEntry, and optional modules such as Gtk2::TrayIcon, Gtk2::Spell). For spell checking, you need to install gtkspell, aspell and aspell-dic. If you need aspell dictionary for other languages, check here.( https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...18234&hl=aspell )

Description from Project page
Zim is a WYSIWYG text editor written in Gtk2-Perl which aims to bring the concept of a wiki to your desktop. Every page is saved as a text file with wiki markup. Pages can contain links to other pages, and are saved automatically. Creating a new page is as easy as linking to a non-existing page. Pages are ordered in a hierarchical structure that gives it the look and feel of an outliner. This tool is intended to keep track of TODO lists or to serve as a personal scratch book.

xdm for beta3

I've build a replacement xdm since the one in the xfree package does not work. This is a very simple version of xdm such that it only displays in black and white. Once you install it, pdaXrom will boot with a graphical login. After you login, you will get your default window manager as defined in /etc/X11/xsm or /home/root/.xsession
The simplest way to retain your current window manager which probably is configured with /home/root/.xinitrc is to symlink it to .xsession

To shutdown to the command line, press Ctrl+Alt+BS three times in a row.

While I was building exo-0.3.2 (part of xfce 4.4 build process) , I had to either quit building it or build new perl instead, as the one included in b3 didn't had perl.h inside. So I built latest full perl 5.8.8 and also URI CPAN module for it.

Here there are, if anyone interested.

p.p. built new XML::Parser too, required for some compiles.

[span style=\'font-size:21pt;line-height:100%\']TreeLine[/span]

According to the web site,

Some would call TreeLine an Outliner, others would call it a PIM. Basically, it just stores almost any kind of information. A tree structure makes it easy to keep things organized. And each node in the tree can contain several fields, forming a mini-database. The output format for each node can be defined, and the output can be shown on the screen, printed, or exported to html.

Treeline depends on SIP and PyQt, so install these files first.

[span style=\'font-size:21pt;line-height:100%\']Ted - a lightweight word processor for pdaX b3/ii13[/span]

To install Ted just extract the archive to /usr/local with the command

tar xvfz Ted_2.17_Linux_armv5tel.tar.gz -C /usr/local

Spell checker dictionaries for languages other than the US excuse for English  can be downloaded from

http://www.nllgg.nl/Ted/

To install them just copy the .ind file from the appropriate archive to /usr/local/ind

KNOWN BUGS

If you have the main Ted document window open and in focus pushing the 3 key causes Ted to crash with this error dumped to the console

X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 42 (X_SetInputFocus)
Serial number of failed request: 2006
Current serial number in output stream: 2010

and If you have the main Ted editor window open and in focus pushing the 7 key opens up the spell checker window but doesn't produce any errors on the console.

I've informed the author and he says these bugs will be fixed for the next release but until that happens you can work around this by using the Insert/Symbol menu option whenever you want to enter the number 3 or 7 under Ted.

A band of *bands

The classic *band.

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Angband 3.0.6 (rebuilt with new tileset and SDL sound support) [/span]
-- Angband is a freeware computer dungeon exploration game based (loosely) on the books of J.R.R.Tolkien. You explore a very deep dungeon, kill monsters, try to equip yourself with the best weapons and armor you can find, and finally face Morgoth - "The Dark Enemy".
-- The origin of the "V" variants, a.k.a. the "*bands".
-- Developers' pages: http://www.thangorodrim.net/  http://angband.oook.cz/index.php http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.r....angband/topics a.k.a. "r.g.r.a.".
-- Optimized build now with David Gervais' 32x32 tiles and Brendon Oliver's SDL sound patch ( http://people.smartchat.net.au/~caboo/angband/soundfx.html ).

The main program:

The sound package:
(Depends: sdl-mixer)
(Added: The uploading changed the dash to an underscore. Rename it to "angband-sound_3.0.6_armv5tel.ipk" and install will go well.   )

The new *band!

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']NPPAngband 0.5.0WIP8a [/span]
-- What would Angband look like if it was more aggressive about taking more ideas from the variants?
-- Homepage: http://members.cox.net/nppangband/index.htm  (Fan site: http://nppangband.tannert.name/)

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Frazband 0.4.1a[/span]
-- Based on re-Tolkienised Zangband 2.6.2. It features a new magic system, a player settable difficulty option.
-- Homepage: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/frazband/
-- Note: The developer says on his website that the current source would support the 8x8 tileset. I've included Zangband's 16x16 tileset anyway, and it seems to load well.

The quick *band~

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Quickband 1.0.5[/span]
-- Quickband is a variant of Angband (via a popular variant called NPPband). As the name suggests, it's a truly "quicker" Angband.
-- The aim of Quickband is to descend to the 12th level of the dungeon and slay the evil wizard Saruman of Many Colors. Quickband is intended to be much quicker to complete than regular Angband (which has 100 dungeon levels). In fact you should be able to play a full game in just a few hours.
-- Homepage: http://guildgame.com/quickband.htm

The easy *band?

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Xangband 1.1.1 (Updated)[/span]
-- XAngband is one of the ZAngband variants, from japan, and is *pretty* easier than other variants. Many useful features from other variants and some original features are added in XAngband.
-- Homepage: http://xangband.sourceforge.jp/eng/

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Hengband 1.6.2 (rebuilt)[/span]
-- Hengband is a variant of the Japanese translation of Zangband, adding new artifacts, monsters, classes, and magical realms, as well as a weapon proficiency system, dual-weapon fighting, riding, and a number of other features.
-- This is the last official release. Development has ceased. (But see below)
-- Homepage: http://hengband.sourceforge.jp/en/index.html  (also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hengband)

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Hengband 1.7.0  [/span]
-- The very last unreleased development version  (See the chats in: http://www.gamesreviews.net/archive751-2005-10-344841.html )
-- Homepage: http://artsci.wustl.edu/~bcbarnes/band/

... Hey, wait! Where is Zangband then?
Yes, it's been around for quite a while: https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=17293

The hard *band!

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Entroband 1.7.1 [/span]
-- New variant based upon Hengband 1.7.0
-- This variant is intended to be difficult, yet rewarding for characters of all levels. The developer  hopes to get rid of some of the chaff and cruft from hengband, and still maintain a disordered and uncertain experience.
-- Homepage: http://artsci.wustl.edu/~bcbarnes/band/ ("Many monsters made more challenging. Many artifacts changed. Many weak monsters and artifacts removed. New, powerful, artifacts and uniques. New monster descriptions where many old ones were missing. Cheesy tactics slowly being plugged.")

The *band to hell...

[span style=\'font-size:14pt;line-height:100%\']Hellband 0.8.4 [/span]
-- Hellband is a roguelike based on Angband. The theme is from Dante Alighieri's Inferno.
-- Homepage: http://hellband.googlepages.com/index.html

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

All the *bands here require ncurses.

All the ports are built with cpu optimization (-O2 -mcpu=xscale -mtune=xscale).

Of course, there are still lots of *bands around waiting to fight Zaurus - the great mind-opening, eye-catching, breath-taking beast ...

For making builds, finetuning display and other gameplay issues, please see another thread here: https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?act=S...ndpost&p=152462

NetPanzer and deps. Optimized and compiled on r121.

Needs SDL, SDL-mixer, SDL-ttf, SDL-image, SDL-net, and Physfs. Most of the SDLs are a few posts up, and SDL-ttf is in the "force SDL-ttf to compile without OpenGL" thread. It may or may not work with other versions.

~26MB installed

EDIT: Seems to fail when connecting to an internet game. If you have a solution to this problem, please start a thread!

Code: [Select]
An unexpected exception occured: eof while reading
Shutdown needed.

EDIT 2: Only installs to internal flash?

Please check your packages and optionally tell what they need and if they have problems installing somewhere and such!

(i'm on beta3)

"Optimized" Sylpheed:

Code: [Select]
root@zaurus:/storage/packages/new3$ sylpheed
sylpheed: relocation error: sylpheed: undefined symbol: gtk_status_icon_new_from_pixbuf

Netpanzer:

Code: [Select]
root@zaurus:/storage$ netpanzer
Initialisation failed:
Error while reading 8x8 font: couldn't open file 'pics/chars8x8.raw' for reading: Symbolic links are disabled
Couldn't initialize the game: bootstrap failed.

Also, for both there are no menu shortcuts under ROX ...

BTW, here is a sylpheed 2.3.1 client, built on b3, with all plain libs from the feed, have shortcuts for the menu. It's built with
-mcpu=xscale -mtune=iwmmxt -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-common

so it's kinda optimized
http://z.drun.net/packages/sylpheed_2.3.1_armv5tel.ipk

SuperTux built and tested on beta 3. I get 11-12 fps , with cpu boosted to 624 mhz, i get about 20 fps.
