Import Bookmarks Into Netfront?
« on: April 07, 2006, 01:27:04 pm »
I hope this is the correct forum to post this. I just got my 'Z' online yesterday.
Is there a method to import Firefox bookmarks into Netfront 3.1 on my C3100?
I use Cacko Lite 1.23, and do NOT have Opera installed.
I exported my bookmarks out from Firefix (ver 1.07 windoze).
This results in a large 1MB HTML file, with all the bookmarks shown on one page.
I can open this in Netfront on my Z, and click on the links, but there are 938 links on one page.
I want to be able to use the Netfront bookmark function to browse my bookmarks.
How can this HTML file be imported into the Netfront bookmarks menu?
Also, I would like to retain the "Folder" structure, the same way as it appears on my desktop.

Thank you,
Jon

Import Bookmarks Into Netfront?

I just tried something else.
I used Internet Explorer to import above "Bookmarks.html"
Now I have a directory structure. I deleted a bunch that I don't need on my Zaurus.
Now I have 697 bookmarks, (all in windows shortcut format, these are shortcuts to urls)
Is there a way I can import these into Netfront 3.1?
(There are 697 files and 62 folders)
There must be a way to do this, besides opening each website individually and bookmarking each one.

All I did was copy my "Favorites" folder from IE to a SD card, then I keep it open in the "Files" area of Cacko. Works like a charm, though maybe 2 or 3% of the links won't open for some reason.
Even stranger, I can't get any of the links to open in Opera. Does anyone have that figured out?

Thank you, I found your other post where you used the above method.
I'll try it.
There is a 3X difference in file size.
Files and folders bookmarks = 272MB
bookmarks.html = 988k

The bookmarks.html has all the same bookmarks as the Files and folders bookmarks.
I'll use both methods and decide later which one I like best.
BTW, if you have Firefox, you can import your IE bookmarks,
then export them to a single bookmarks.html file.
