Possible Built-in Wifi Solution
« on: May 02, 2006, 02:57:51 pm »
Has anyone seen this posting on Engadget?  Not sure when this will be out, but it looks like a good solution to the missing built-in WiFi.  Its small and flush so can be left in all the time.

That would be great if we could confirm that our devices support SDIO devices. As I have said before, it has been rumored that our devices were built with future SDIO support in mind... but no drivers haven been implimented. Or maybe SDIO is a driver driven component... not hardware driven... the next issue would be is the ability to use the Storage and Wifi at the same time. We have this issue with the Sandisk Wifi 128mb. Each portion could be used... but not at the same time. But having a SDIO, flush, wifi card... I WOULDNT CARE ABOUT THE PETTY 1gig STORAGE SPACE... LOL

I will have to keep my "EYE" on this device.

http://scobleizer.wordpress.com/2006/04/26/more-on-eye-fi/

Some more interesting aspects and usage of the Eye-Fi on it.

I would love it to work for the Zaurus too.

Nice!
That sucka must get hot!

Speaking of SDIO. I seem to recall an OZ dev say that OZ has some basic SDIO support but other ROM's don't becasue of the they use Sharp's MMC driver.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
