If I understand you correct than I follow your instructions from your link. Before I do that I will replace my ipkg file with the new one from Meanie (same link) and add the ignored file. Inside this ignore file I'll put abiword, perl and others you had to replaced after all.
Do you aggree with this doing?
Thanks

- Replace ipkg binary with the latest one from Meanie(bug with ignored file fixed and option to make test upgrade added) from the same thread.
- follow my instructions till ipkg upgrade and do ipkg upgrade-test instead so that you can see all packages that would have been upgraded.
From these packages choose the one that you don't want to upgrade(wireless, hostap, abiword(but not necessarily), perl, roxlib2(but shouldn't be upgraded anyway since it has a different name compared with roxlib), all sdl*) and put them in the ignored file. Then do ipkg upgrade, the one that stop CF services can be installed later on manually. You may end up with redundant packages like freetype, the freetype package from kk's feed is enough, you don't need the other ones but you may have to uninstall freetype-old and reinstall freetype cause problems with names, symlinks. in addition to that, install dbus-glib. may I suggest mb-applet-powerctrl and gpicview_0.1.5.
Have fun
Edit: while doing pdaxii13-custom from 5.4.7 to 5.4.9 you may loose some of your customizations like changing the openbox keyboard shortcuts e.g. So, save these files in a safe place before.
