Pidgin has a CLI called Finch that works well. I don't know if that's in the pdaX package for it (or if there is one), but it may be something to look into.
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo

Thanks Capn,

Would anyone be able to compile this for me for beta 1 ?

Dungeon Crawl
ftp://ftp.dungeoncrawl.org/LATEST/final/

If you find a better source, that would be ok. I am looking for the non-ssh version, that is why I am asking that this be built.. work doesn't like me using ssh

If it's anything even remotely close to Firefox, it's a no-go. I'll look into it when I have time, though (which may be a while, others are welcome to take a stab at it).

Please, can someone compile DeSmuME for my Zaurus C860 with pdaXrom 1.0.1 beta1 ? You can get the source here: desmume.org/download/ .
It would be nice, to have the newest version of Wesnoth ( www.wesnoth.org ) for my Zaurus too.

 You need to do some more reading before you post.

What are the minimum hardware requirements for desmume ?

From a purely technical viewpoint, there are no minimum requirements. However, for 'real-world' playable speeds, you would need at least the following :

    * Windows OS: Windows XP or Vista
    * Linux OS: Any recent Linux distribution with a 2.6 kernel.
    * 2 GHz Processor
    * 512 MB Available System Memory
    * Available Hard Drive Space: A few MB for desmume, and several GB for the nds files.
    * 128 MB 3D Video Card (Nvidia GeForce 6800 or better), ATI cards are not recommended.
    * Optional: Sound Card, if you want sound support
    * Optional: Microphone, if you wish to make use the Windows Microphone feature

What are the recommended hardware requirements for desmume ?

From a purely technical viewpoint, there are no recommended requirements. However, for 'real-world' playable speeds, the following gives you good performance:

    * Windows OS: Windows XP or Vista
    * Linux OS: Any recent Linux distribution with a 2.6 kernel.
    * 3 GHz Processor
    * 1 GB Available System Memory
    * Available Hard Drive Space: A few MB for desmume, and lots of GB's for the nds files.
    * 512 MB 3D Video Card (Nvidia GeForce), ATI cards are not recommended.
    * Sound Card.
    * Microphone.

In general, the more Ghz, the better. The faster memory, the better. Desmume currently won't benefit from multiple cores. Desmume currently is, unfortunately, slower than no$gba.

I'll try tonight, and see if it builds.  I'll post results, if any later.

I didn't go too far before discovering the first big hurdle.  The latest version of dillo requires FLTK2.  As far as I can see, the 2.x branch has been abandoned, at least temporarily, in favor of 1.3.x.  I have been able to build 1.3, but I think 2.x uses a different API.  I'll know more later.  If anyone is interested, I will post up the FLTK 1.3 when I've had a chance to clean up the ipk.

Does anyone know how to deal with this?  When I issue the make command, I'm getting Makefile:16: *** missing separator.  Stop.

The Makefile is peppered with various symbols like KE@ CC@ etc.

I'm sure SOMETHING needs to read these, but what that something is, I don't know.  Anyone?

you probably need to run configure first to generate the Makefile with the correct settings.

I do run configure, but you are partly right.  These tags are supposed to be removed and replaced by the configure script, but for some reason, they are hanging around after.  Either the script is wrong, or I've got a new version of something that has a NEW and Improved way of doing things that's incompatible.

Some things I've found point to newer versions of PCRE
