Meanie
How do I get hda4 (my MD vfat partition) to mount as a removeable disc over a USB link under pdaxii13?
Thanks

shouldn't it be hda3?

You'd think so, as its the 3rd partition, but there is no hda3 on my Z. I've not got the Z here but
hda1 = 1GB ext3 /
hda2 (I think) = 256MB swap
hda4 = fat32, whatever space was left
When I was using fdisk I only created primary partitions, made sure the types were set correctly and the fat partition was created as primary #3 but still ended up as hda4 regardless. Has nobody else had fdisk do this to them? Is it just a case of me editing usbfunction.py and changing any hda3s to hda4s? I'll probably reformat when Meanie releases the new initrds and hdimages so maybe I'll use use Meanies formatting option next time to see if USB storage link works then.
I had another i/o error this morning when trying to get bvdd working again. I installed atty's bvdd package but it gave me the 'not an ELF file' error when I rebooted and it was trying to load the bvdd module. So then I tried moving the bvdd.o into the modules/.../drivers/video dir and thats when I got my i/o error, trying to view that dir after I've moved attys bvdd over the older, non-functional bvdd.o. Is this why people say to not install the bvdd package but extract the bvdd.o file from it and then move into into the modules dir? I hope the next release will come with attys bvdd and sdl as standard.
I never did find out what a 'rank b' sector type is when you use the D+M boot key combo to check the Microdrive for errors. All my MDs sectors were either rank A or B and I'm presuming that a B sector is still OK.
