I did. But it wasn\'t with windows but with Mandrake. I posted it in the newbie section under \"usb connection\". lardman is trying to help me there, so if you might find some answers.

I use a BT CF by DAIKOM (detected as CSR Bluecore 2 UART adapter) and I set a GPRS connection via my Siemens S55 for dial-up using Setting/network. It seems that it\'s all Ok. The applet says \"connected\" and pressing \"i\" button it gives right connection params (DNS, GW etc...), but if I try to use mail or browser (Opera or NF), I can\'t access to internet. NF, for example, says \"TCP write error\". Anyone can help me?

Very strange. Can you ping a site manualy from console?

ex. ping google.com

What does it say?

What output do you see from ifconfig command?

No... I can\'t ping any site.

ping says:

PING google.com (216.239.39.99): 56 data bytes

--- google.com ping statistics ---
7 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss

if I use ifconfig, I obtain:

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:0 (0.0   TX bytes:0 (0.0

ppp0      Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
          inet addr:10.208.40.63  P-t-P:10.208.32.2  Mask:255.255.255.255
          UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST  MTU:1500  Metric:1
          RX packets:7 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:92 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
          RX bytes:989 (989.0   TX bytes:7173 (7.0 Kb)

Same type of response if I use another GPRS provider or other phone.
Have you any idea?
Thanks, M.

Has anyone had a problem with Windows not recognizing mass storage correctly with Daniela?

YES REALLY EXISTS PROBLEMS WITH MASS STORAGE CONNEXION  :twisted:

If you try to launch qtsamba in console mode, selecting \'Storage\' and \'OK\',  you will see that there are problems with writing files in /etc/hotplug directory :

what is this problem of read only filesystem ??? how remounting in read write mode ?

Maslovsky to the RESCUE !!!

here is the result of qtsamba run in console mode
# qtsamba
Display size = 480x640
Qtsamba: init()
QtSamba::init oldCardState=2 saveCard=0
QtSamba::isConnectUSB 0x00000100

QtSamba::~QtSamba()

So i made a chmod 666 usbd.ftype

here is now the result of the qtsamba command

QtSamba::~QtSamba()

The above error is due to /etc/hotplug/usbdstorage.conf not being writable, chmod to 666 as per above.

I noticed on my setup (self-rolled rom with usbdstorage taken from C860 NAND) that /usr/QtPalmtop.rom/bin/qtsamba was owned zaurus.qpe, changing the ownership to root.qpe allowed usbstorage to work correctly - probably could change usbd.ftype and usbstorage.conf back to previous perms but I haven\'t tried that

Hope this helps

Damm, hoped that would work as it did the trick for me.

P.S. you can remount / read-write if you need to change anything by

mount -o rw,remount /

I suggest as soon as your done that you

mount -o ro,remount /

to put it back read-only so you don\'t mistakenly kill your Z by deleting /sbin or something stupid like me.

stu & maslovsky : nope : always the same qtsamba messages (usbmonitor : Operation not permitted)(insmod : a module named usbdmonitor already exists)

Am I alone in this case ? I\'ve just put the last (153805032004) Rom and said Ok to erase my internal flash. Nobody use the Mass storage settings ? :?:

i only have a mass storage pb with windows when i boot with my Zc750 (Daniela rom) unplugged. Booting with it connected resolves the pb.

But under mandrake, no way...

Nobody use the Mass storage settings ?
With the Cacko Qt ROM, I use it at work to sync with KO/PI on my Winblows desktop. I run KO/PI sync from the Desktop to \"local file\".  (I\'ve symlinked mycalendar.ics from my SD card to default location in internal memory)

The only trick was to install USB mass storage drivers for the Z. With PC link set to Storage, go to Device manager and the Z\'s connection (mine had the dreaded Splat symbol on it), go to properties, chose update drivers and then USB Mass storage. WAY faster for transering files, than samba. Down side only one card visible at a time.

Just checked - works for me.... However I have a 750. I wonder if it makes any difference from 860...
