Could you not change X11's color depth down?
SL-C750- pdaXrom beta 1 (mostly unused)
Current distro: Gentoo

I Tried to change X11's depth down but i didn't found the appropriate config file.
I don't have xorg.conf even XF86Config on /etc/X11.

debian:/etc/X11
app-defaults
X
Xressources
Xsession.option
defaukt-dislay-manager
xdm
Xsession
Xwrapper.config
rgb.txt
xinit
Xsession.d

I have a Z-c3000 on titchy debian (xfce)

You're probably using KDrive, which would not use a config file by default, IIRC. I'm not sure how to change it in that case.

You are right I think I have Kdrive, and I found in the X file(/etc/X11) that the X server is started with exec/opt/kdrive/Xfbdev-screen 480x640 @ 270 "$ @" and with documentation i thought it is possible to change the settings of Xfbde -screen option> Widthxheight [xdepth [xfreq]] [@ rotation]
But:
I don't know if it works?
If so what is the value in xdepth for have grayscale?
Otherwise, how can I change Kdrive to have a standard X11 if It is possible.
PS: Thank you for your answers.

xf86-input-tslib (xserver-xorg-input-tslib) is in Debian new queue now.

Once the ftp-master upload it, it will be in Debian official archive.

Armel binary will be delayed a while. Once the armel binary is available, you can use everything Debian official (except kernel and kernel modules) in Zaurus.

Hi ...
I didn't found any tuto to install xserver-xorg.
I did the following command:
>cp =R /etc/X11 /etc/X11-old
>aptget update
>apt-get install xserver-xorg

And ... "Of course" i have a problem   when i tried to startx:

Black screen and :

AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0" after 0 request (0 know processed) with 0 event remaining.

What I have to do? is it so easy to install xorg on my Z "there is a tutorial"? did I have to install an driver for my Z?
Thanx for your help .

Ps: I tried to change defaultDepth 24 to 8 in the xorg.conf file ... and i have a black screen without return.
My config is: Zaurus SL-C3000 in titchy linux "debian"
