VNC Server for C760/C860
« on: March 18, 2004, 01:43:24 am »
Is there a VNC server available that works with the C760/C860 running the latest Cacko ROM (v1.20 March 5).  I tried fbvncserver for the 5500 and lost all mouse functions.  Happily, I was able to uninstall it and get back to normal.

Finally answered my own question, YES there is a working vnc server that runs on the C760/C860 with the Cacko ROM (v1.20) and other Sharp type ROMs.  You can get it here:

http://member.nifty.ne.jp/kayoko_abe/tsuyo...700-0.4_arm.ipk

Now, to get it working first install it as normal using the regular Add/Remove software GUI on the Zaurus.  Then reboot.  Then click on the icon (one of 4) that says VNC password and set a password.  Then hold your stylus down over each of the 4 vnc icons and be sure you uncheck the display with magnified screen option.  Finally, click on the VNC server start icon.  Works great for me except with old 5500 series programs that have the display with magnified screen option checked.  As long as you uncheck the display with magnified screen option  it seems to work fine.  Really nice I think.

Oh, I forgot to say that once you have it working you can display your Zaurus on your desktop PC by typing the following into your web browser:

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5800/

Where the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP of your Zaurus on your local LAN.  I haven\'t tried it over the internet.  Presumably it would work if you had the right ports open in your router.

The link is gone. Would you mind to send your ipk for me?  Thanks.

I\'ve mirrored every vnc that I could find ... as well.
