Socket Bluetooth CF rev E - does it work with Z760
« on: March 28, 2004, 08:56:39 pm »
I have got Socket Bluetooth CF rev E and Z760 and Cacko ROM 1.20 and BlueZ 2.3-2.4.18d installed.
The CF card was never recognized as BT device alway says Anonymous Memory when inserted.
hciconfig returns nothing.
When restarting bluetooth it sais \"Can\'t get port settings: input/output error\"

My knowledge about linux: newbie.

Please help - I was checking all the topics and could not find anything for revision E Socket CF.

The Socket Rev E card should work out of the box without any problems, but doesn\'t the Cacko ROM come with the BlueZ drivers already?

Try rebooting.

I reboot a few times - no result.
I reflashed the Cacko ROM 1.20 again and did not install anything at all. No result. hciconfig command returns nothing.
I looks like the card is not recognized properly - it always sais \"Anonymous Memory\" after insertion.

cardctl returns [ready] status

Is there any tool to check if the card is runnig OK or any other suggestions ?

Go down to the command prompt and run the following commands as root when your card is inserted:

cardctl ident
lsmod
cardctl status
dump_cis

Post its output here.

Make sure all the Zaurus CF slot pins are straight.

I\'ve also had a couple of occasions where I inserted my Rev F card (almost the same as the Rev E) and got \"Anonymous Memory\". But all I had to do if remove it, make sure there was no dust in the slot and reinsert it.

The card could be broken. Are there are other PDAs/laptops you could try it on?

tumnus you are right.
The card is rather broken, when I squeezed it a few times it was even working for a few moments and then died again.
It looks that the card was not used but rather abused.
Thank you very much for your help (albertr thank you as well) - I will come back with working card soon.
