Zaurus Views?
« on: June 03, 2003, 12:51:58 am »
Hey Guys I\'m from MN and was wondering if you could help me out?

I have a Zaurus 5500 and was wondering if on the Documents tab there is away to change the view? It is in like a icon view, and was wondering if I could change it to a list view some how? Thanks for the help!!!

Which ROM do you have?

I have the Cacko 3.10 ROM, just changed from the Sharp 3.10 ROM.  In both of these, there is a view menu option allowing me to select between details and thumbnails.

loom001, I agree with reverb... if you haven\'t already checked out the new 3.10 rom, you should.  There are so many new features that I really like.  Here are a couple screenshots of the new files/documents area (showing the differences between thumbnail and list views):

Note:  I\'m using the cacko modified 3.10 rom, available in our downloads area.

well I went and did it.  Followed the directions to a T, but on the boot up this is as far as it goes.

INIT: Version 2.78 booting
INIT: No inittab file found
INIT: Entering runlevel : 5
INIT: no more processes left in this run level

Called sharp and they said send it to them, to fix and load new ROM, big bummer.  So I guess off to sharp it goes.

All better now.

What I did was go out and buy a 128 meg CF.
Then I loaded via my PC the ospack to the compact flash.
Helpd down the C and D key while hiting the reset button.
Zaurus had a green light on the email (DON\"T SHUT OFF JUST WAIT)
Then the screen came up with this:
etc/password for maintenance (or type Control - D for normal startup)
(Repair FS) # #
Then all that I had to do is reset the Zaurus one last time (just a plain reset)
Back in business.

Thanks to offroadgeek for all the help!
