Product info: “Bluetooth BT0100M”, “”, “”

And I get a funky blue led that flashes

It looks like manufacturers are moving to the new chipsets for their bluetooth cards, which don\'t seem to be well supported on Linux.

You can give it another try by playing with /etc/bluetooth/uarts config file and trying to add different parameters for your card. Maybe it will work.

Hi!

Just a newbie question regarding the ROM installation instructions. The instructions say:

\"IMPORTANT: This ROM requries a flash partition at least 27 MBytes in size!
Make sure to repartition your internal flash before updating ROM! \"

How do I do this on a C860? I want to install the latest Cacko ROM as soon as I get my C860 and this instruction does not make too much sense(no offense intented Maslovsky!  ).

I will probably copy the ROM files to a CF or SD card(at least 256MB) located in the Z from my PC(I don\'t have a card reader/writer). Once done , I will then follow the instructions.

Any clarity on the matter will be much appreciated!

You will see such option in the menu when you follow flash instructions.

When I flashed the rom on my 860 I first set it to 27Mb which worked fine, I have also set it to 50 which it says is the default and that works too.

Opps, Sorry I forgot to mention that there is an extra screen that appears on the 860 (well on mine any way) from the standard lists on steps of what to do.  It is all in Japanese.  However it just a \"do you really want to do this?\" screen, it is referring to flashing the ROM.  Just pick the button with (y) on it.  I think it\'s the left one.

Hi!

Are there any another links for downloading 1.21? The one in the ZUG downloads does not get picked up by my \"Download Accelerator\" on my Window$ box at work, it tries to download \"217\", in stead of the file.

Any other direct link to the file will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hopefully this will take you to the Cacko ROM down loads.  Part way down you will find the 1.21 ROM, then there some patches you can apply afterwards.  Copy them to your SD, CF or Internal memory then use the program install routine.

http://www.zaurususergroup.com/modules.php...q=getit&lid=217

If it does not work, go to the home (Click on the little guys in the top left), pick downloads from the bar and pick Cacko roms from the list.

Hi all,
Firstly, awesome rom, and great updates. I finally bit the bullet and switched, and it\'s gratifying to see how well assembled and managed the Cacko rom is.

I have a request for the next version or kernel - could you please make the [./] and [.?] keys no longer hardcoded to their specific functions? I would like to change their config in keyhelper, but keyhelper does not seem to be able to pick up the keycodes for either of these keys anymore.

Thanks,
Yz

Personally I like it set up that way. That way the / key and CTRL and ALT keys work in the \"pre-qtopia\" console. I think it is in the kernel, b/c that is the only way to make them work. Keyhelper doesn\'t load before qtopia.

Sounds like we need more \"options\"

Hate to see him trying to keep 3 or 4 kernels up to date though. We almost need to make a \"roll your own kernel\" config script where you could install an easy package on a Linux box and then run a script that would ask a few questions and then roll a kernel for you with all the right options that maslovsky has found for us.

clofland, I dont get it. If it was done that way to make the keys available in the root console, I\'m not sure why both the CTRL and ALT keys are still accessible in keyhelperconf (in fact, I changed the alt key to \"/\" as I find it easier and quicker to hit) while the [,/] and [.?] are impossible to change???

I write a lot, so quick access to punctuation keys helps greatly. Nothing screws it up more than having to hit extra keys to generate a comma, one of the most common punctuation marks.

Personally, I\'m against \"hard coding\" anything on the Z (with no possibility of change), but hey - it\'s Cacko\'s rom. I do agree that it would be rough for them to start dealing with lot\'s of kernels. I hope there\'s a middle ground here (like the coding for the CTRL and ALT key that still allows keyconfig to work).

Has anyone noticed that this rom is very slow at opening spreadsheets ?

Not sure why, just noticed it when comparing 2 c750 units and opening the same file from an SD card.

Cacko rom unit took around 30 seconds to open a fairly simple excel file, normal rom took 10 seconds.

Measured using the same file on same SD card moved between units.

Yah, yzord, you have a good point on the / and , issue. What bugs me is that when I VNC into my Z now, I have to use the , key on my laptop to get a /

Could Keyhelper be used to basicaly map the / to a , and the , to a / ? In other words, if it is hard coded, then use keyhelper to reverse it? Does that make sense?

I need to play more with keyhelper, b/c personally I want to set mine up so that I can quickly switch between a couple of different configurations. If I\'m in QKonsole, shifting for / is a pain, but if I am in handword, shifting for , is a pain. Surely we could use keyhelper to switch this back and forth.

I\'ll play with it when I get a chance.

EDIT: Now if I would just READ yzord\'s post that clearly said that keyhelperconf doesn\'t even pick up the codes on the / and , key anymore, then I would not be wasting my time.  Duh!

EDIT: I still LIKE it the way it is, but I wish keyhelper COULD figure out the key code for the modified / and , keys so it could be switched back \"on demand\" so to speak by modifying the XML file, and yet still work in the pre-qtopia console screen.

Actually, yzord, I see this code in /home/zaurus/Settins/keyhelper.xlm :

<mappings>
    <!-- swap / and , -->
   <define key=\"Comma\">
      <map key=\"Slash\"/>
      <map_modifier Shift=\"On\"/>
      <map_unicode shift_unicode=\"/\"/>
   </define>
   <define key=\"Slash\">
      <modifier Shift=\"On\"/>
      <map key=\"Comma\"/>
      <map_modifier Shift=\"Off\"/>
   </define>
   <define key=\"Comma\">
      <modifier Shift=\"On\"/>
      <map key=\"Comma\"/>
      <map_modifier Shift=\"Off\"/>
   </define>

Does modifying this not change the , and / back to their previous values?

I\'m gonna try it, and if it works, try to make some scripts to switch it back and forth so I can just hit an icon on the desktop to switch it and reload keyhelper.

Hi, a while back I asked about the Bluetooth support for the Anycom CF-300 card. We found out that the LSE139 card uses a new revision, not supported by bluecard_cs.

Now I\'ve looked at http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/bluecard.html where it specifically says the new bluecard_cs driver supports it, this is also confirmed at http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/devices.html and Anycom says the same thing at http://forum.anycom.com/viewtopic.php?t=119

How can I get it working? How should I install the updated bluecard_cs driver?

Thanks for your help.

Zuber --  I use spreadsheets quite a bit and have noticed it takes quite awhile to load.  I never did any comparison though and thought that might be a Hancom issue.  I would like to hear from others what their experience is.  Even simple sheets are slow to load on my Cacko 1.21 with 1.21b hotfix.
