Suspend Not Turning Off Screen

Yes, if Z is doing the compilation then it would be slow.....wonder then what is the point/benefit of that approach?

Still think you should be able to have working suspend on your Z......

Maybe it's worth a try to start fresh.....with new dowloaded files and give it another try.....

Besides OBSD, think Arch is the only other distro that would have current version support.

I think you can use a 32GB CF card with OBSD, at least that's my recollection.

As for swapping it out, I think there's some info about it on some thread on the forums.....as I seem to recall reading about someone doing it....
And as I recall, it's pretty straight forward.....

As I have the 3200 with a 6GB MD, I haven't felt need to do that yet. But I do have a 8GB and a 32GB if I ever feel so inclined to increase capacity....

Suspend works under cacko on my C3000 and it works under OBSD for you so I believe I'll get this working with the help of an OBSD dev, if I can find one thats bothered about Zaurus still. Seeing as the battery life on the Z isn't amazing and it takes a  couple of minutes to cold boot to a prompt, I see suspend as vital if you want to use it effectively as a mobile device.

I was hoping you'd say up to 32GB as thats what I was going to buy. You can get a 32GB CF for about £15, yes fifthteen, pounds now so I'd feel ridiculous not upgrading my Z when they're practically giving CF cards away now.

I think my wifi card only does 802.11b and its ony 11Mb/s so I'm looking for a 54Mb b/g (I doubt I'll find one thats does b/g/n?) CF wifi adapter that will work with OBSD. I'd prefer a wifi adapter to an ethernet adapter although I may end up buying one of those too.

EDIT

I've ordered the 32GB Kingston 266X CF card. £15 including postage!

Well, hope it works....

I think so as I noted before, but I haven't used that card for a long time, so was going from memory....

After I finish building nano (if it ever finishes...>), I'll test the card.....

I didn't search the forum. I could only find one CF card that handles b+g on Amazon but the malo(4) manpage says its supported so I should be OK:

That is good news! Thanks for the update Mark!

In other good news, closely related to this threads OP, I now have working suspend under Arch thanks to daalnroti's updated kernel!

The bad news is that this turn up for the Linux books combined with Arch's easy access to lots of packages, quick booting and low memory usage means I'm struggling to find a reason to give OBSD another go on the Z. At least it looks like Walt has returned to take my place and help in your OBSD package building project!
