I\'m using a SL5500, with the 3.13 Sharp ROM, and I\'ve just installed both zlib and vncserver (fbvncserver-sl5500_0.9.4_arm.ipk)

However, while it all seems to work (ie I can view my Zaurus user interface on my Linux desktop), I can\'t work out how to calibrate the VNC client and/or server; ie, if I click on the VNC window on my desktop, the clicks are registered on the Z as being somewhere quite different.

The VNC page talks about the need to calibrate VNC after the Z restarts, but how does one get the VNC server (or whatever) into this fabled calibration state? It\'s got me stumped!

I\'m sorry to put a damper on everyone\'s high spirits.

I\'ve done all of the above mentioned things but still have a different calibration between the touch-screen and VNC. In one of the articles it says that this top-left/bottom-right touching after the re-boot calibrates the VNC. I am puzzled at this as it is actually _before_ the vncserver has been started.

Can anyone throw any further light on this for me please?

There\'s a vnc kernel module that loads when your Zaurus boots and that is what uses the top left and bottom right taps for calibrations. If you follow the howto I posted above, it will work if you have the correct version of fbvncserver for your model and ROM installed.

I have followed your suggestions again, taking a lot more care to get right to the corners of the screen this time. It\'s not perfect but it\'s a lot better.

In some parts of the the screen it\'s spot-on but in others it\'s out by a noticable amount. The touch-screen itself is perfect.

I suppose it might be possible to fiddle with the numbers in /etc/tssim_col.conf ... ?
