Did someone install Nanodroid?
« on: February 15, 2020, 04:25:59 am »
I am looking for a way to get rid of all google spyware and get microg (and remove all PC applications, they might be nice but I really dont need them). Before I was using microg lineage so the signature spoofing was baked into ROM (PC, it would be really nice if you would add that too), but now I need to find a way to do it on my own (xposed framework is one option). Since Nanodroid does most of the changes I need it seems like a good way to do it, I have backuped the whole ROM using TWRP but just for any case, did someone try to install NanoDroid on Cosmo?

Not the Nanodroid approach, but I posted a microG setup procedure here.  I've been running that setup problem-free for a couple of weeks now.  Just yesterday I reset everything when installing the Linux beta and the official rooted boot.img, and can confirm that procedure works fine on the official rooted ROM as well.

Ok, great, thank you for your effort, I'll try with nanodroid and report back, it is still "a tad" more automated solution and I am sick to death of applying the fixes by hand each and every OTA update.

I hear you.  I'm dreading that myself.    Looking forward to a LineageOS build in the future.

I have successfully deodexed services.vdex on my linux rig, I am searching for a way to patch it upfront but it can already be usefull to actually prepare the system for NanoDroid... Attraching services.jar if it will be useful to someone.

Btw, try NetGuard and set it to log every connection attempt. This way you will be able to find any connection triggered from applications that shouldnt be connecting somewhere. I have found lineage sending calls from dialer app to some austran registry a few years back so I dont trust them any more.
