Linux VoWIFI
« on: August 25, 2020, 07:40:40 am »
Hi, I'm really pleased with the progress so far for Debian installed on the Cosmo https://support.planetcom.co.uk/index.php/Linux_for_Cosmo.
When I use Android on the Cosmo I can use VoWIFI with the service provider EE.
Is VoWIFI also available in Debian?
Will I need to install Connman? https://support.planetcom.co.uk/index.php/Cosmo_Linux_Mobile_Data.
Thanks in advance for any guidance  :)

My operator plan here in Brazil  is prepaid and only postpaid support voice over wifi. In android there is an option to enable according to the operator.  I have 2  prepaid sim cards ( 1 is physical an other is the  esim ). The operator of esim card ( CLARO )  supports Vowifi. ( there is an option  to enable vowifi  in android config but it doesn' t work because my sim card is a prepaid ). But my other operator ( OI )  don' t support Vowifi ( there is no option to enable wowifi in android config  ) . In linux only physical sim card is supported to make calls . I have installed the dialer app and it works fine. But as I said my operator of my physical sim card don' t support vowifi , so I could not test . But even without support I didn't see any options to enable vowifi in linux . Connman is necessary to  enable mobile data with sim card. Maybe someone here in this forum can help with additional information . Sorry.

OK thanks for getting back to me.
Here in the UK the phone app in Linux works really clearly with regular EE phone mast connection and the Cosmo open.
Likewise the messaging app is also seamless.
Actually I feel that the Cosmo signal reception for both Linux and Android is as good or better than my Oneplus phone.
Cheers
