cacko ROM for the SL5600
« on: April 26, 2004, 11:54:30 am »
I\'ve done a proof of concept on installing/booting the cacko ROM (1.21) for the SL5600.
I\'m just wondering who is interested in this potential ROM?
Secondly, I\'m looking for maintainer(s) against the C series version... ;-)

*bump*

Just 2 months ago many 5600 owners were complaining about lack of roms and software,  some even wanted there own Forum. Will now ced would like to know if anyone is interested in running the cacko Rom 1.21 on your 5600. Are there only 3 of us interested?

I\'m quite interested for my future 5600. But it will be a pxa-255 one, does this makes a difference for the ROM ? Should it have two releases of the ROM ?

New 5600 owner here. I will definitely be interested in upgrading ROM / kernel sometime soon (but want to get my feet wet on the stock first) but I\'m still trying to sort out the bewildering variety of options and understand which options actually support the 5600.

A cacko for the 5600 would be excellent since it is one of the ones that seem to be well liked by those using it.

(Just to be sure I remember correctly, the cacko ROM is a Qt based system, right?)

A single kernel should probably work on both CPUs.

I\'d probably be interested in helping test it.  Can you point me to info about Cacko ROM?  I checked Cacko.biz, but they seem to be promoting pdaXrom exclusively.

No, that\'s not it. ced was talking about ROM for 5600, and it\'s not published anywhere.

What is realy needed is a maintainer. Once we have a maintainer, we\'ll need testers, but not the other way

I understand that, but as I read it that is the rom he would like to install to the 5600.

I just started pricing DSL so that I could help more, it\'s very hard with dial-up 56k
