Is there an easy way to disable the Sharp Calendar alarm
« on: May 01, 2004, 08:29:53 am »
I\'m using Zautrix\'s excellent KO/PI at this point for my calendar and todo manager.  But, now, whenever I get an alarm I get notified by both KO/PI and the Sharp Calendar app.  I could disable the KO/PI alarm but then what\'s the use of using KO/PI?  I\'d rather disable the alarm for the app I\'m not really using other than as a conduit to KO/PI.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  TIA.

Have you tried turning the FastLoad option off on the Sharp Calendar app??  That way the Sharp app won\'t be running in the background.

You have to rename datebook such that it cannot be automatically started by the system alarm daemon.
If you rename it and you do not delete it, you can do revert your changes easily.

I have renamed
/home/QtPalmtop/bin/datebook
to
/home/QtPalmtop/bin/datebookwech

Then I have synced KO/Pi with the database and then with outlook without problems.
The event( with alarm ) created on outlook made KO/Pi alarm goes off, but there was no datebook alarm :-)

Zautrix -

Took your recommendations and all seems to be working okay.  Thanks.
